The Test Design and Instrumentation Engineering Department is seeking a Section Manager to lead a team of Specialty Test Engineers supporting the Strike Program in Melbourne, FL.

This is a dual role Section Manager Specialty Test Manager and Special Environmental Test Manager. The candidate will be responsible for functional management of staff as a Section Manager within the System Integration and Test & Evaluation (SI&TE) Directorate.  The candidate will also be required to be a Specialty Test Engineer on the Strike IPT. The candidate will be responsible for functional management of Specialty Test Engineers and provide technical oversight to System Test and Integration activities on the program (IPT). 

The successful candidate will help their section members understand our organization's vision and principles, build a culture that empowers and motivates individual excellence, and establish functional homeroom shared accountability for program performance.

Section Manager responsibilities include working closely with the Test Design and Instrumentation Department Manager and fellow section managers to implement department and CoE initiatives, ensuring successful planning and execution of program test engineering activities, collaborating with programs to satisfy staffing needs and provide operations support (metrics collection and analysis, etc.), setting Talent + goals and providing regular performance feedback to employees, supporting the annual salary review and promotion process, mentoring and developing the next generation of technical and project leadership, and improving and enforcing test engineering processes and procedures.

The Special Environmental Test Manager will be responsible for leading and executing an exciting statement of work on a classified program. This position will be both an IPT Lead and a Functional Homeroom Manager.

Responsibilities include the following:
•    Report to the Specialty Test IPT Lead
•    Lead and oversee the technical SOW
•    Including incremental and full-scale testing
•    Cost Account Manager for Associated Networks
•    Interface with technical government counterpart
•    Travel up to 25% to test ranges or government facilities

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science STEM degree and 9 years of relevant experience; 7 years with a Masters
  • Must have a current DoD Secret with re-investigation in the last 4-5 years.
  • Must be able to obtain Special Program access prior to start and ability to maintain

Preferred Qualifications:

  • MS STEM Degree
  • Prior leadership and Management experience
  • Active TS Clearance
  • Program Cleared
  • Experience in Environmental Testing
  • Nx and CPLM Experience

Salary Range: $127,700 USD - $191,500 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
