Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems Sector has an opening for a Staff System Test Proposal Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals within our Systems Integration, Test and Evaluation department. This position is located in Melbourne, Florida.

This role synthesizes customer contractual needs and requirements into system test solutions that acknowledges technical, schedule and cost constraints. The successful candidate will develop and direct preparation and execution of comprehensive test plans, procedures and schedules for completing systems. Also, will coordinate integrated testing activities. Finally, review and evaluate test requirements to insure completeness of test program as well as perform technical analysis of complete systems and prepares comprehensive system level evaluations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure that the proposal is technically sound and meets all budgetary and schedule requirements
  • Provide technical guidance and coordinate with a small team of engineers in proposal activities 
  • Support a team producing the engineering artifacts in support of capture efforts
  • Engage in estimating, cost reduction opportunities, trade studies associated with sourcing, and Integrated Master Plan (IMP) / Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) activities
  • Verify the proposal offering meets requirements and is capable of being executed within the specified contract limits
  • Attend internal program, customer and/or supplier technical exchange meetings and/or formal program milestone reviews to provide and/or obtain progress status updates

The selected candidate should thrive in a fast-paced work environment with high expectations, significantly diverse assignments, and collaborative/team settings across all levels. The candidate must be a self-starter capable of flourishing in an environment with minimal direction.  The candidate will need to have excellent communication and writing skills with experience in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Project.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's of Science in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering & Math) plus 14 Years engineering experience; or Master’s of Science in STEM plus 12 Years engineering experience; or PhD in STEM plus 9 Year’s engineering experience.
  • Must have an active DoD Secret or higher clearance (with a background investigation completed within the last 6 years or currently enrolled into Continuous Evaluation).
  • Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Programs (SAP) prior to the commencement of employment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong Technical Writing Skills
  • Experience working in multiple test disciplines (Specialty, Lab, Flight, or Instrumentation). 
  • Experience with proposals and program captures within the Aerospace and Defense industry.

Salary Range: $139,000 USD - $208,600 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
