Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems is seeking a Model-Based System Architecture Manager 3 that will utilize Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) practices to lead and support the Systems Engineering Integration (SEI) Integrated Product Team (IPT), for cross-IPT collaboration and future program capture within the APEX Division.  The individual will be responsible for operating in an agile team environment to provide cross-IPT support as the visionary of the program’s implementation of a digital culture in the development of the architecture model and associated system requirements. This position is fully on-site in Melbourne, FL.

The individual must possess strong leadership abilities, excellent communications skills and effective problem solving capabilities. The candidate will be responsible for recruiting and mentoring future leaders, directing training and skill development initiatives and promoting engagement and inclusion activities.  This candidate will act as a cross-IPT technical integrator working closely with peers and managers of other engineering disciplines, program managers, and IPT leads, with essential functions including:

  • Model based system architecture development, supplier model integration, and internal system interface control 
  • Capture analytical tool and workflows (analytical architectures)
  • Provide requirements allocation and interface definition support to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications.
  • Provide cross-IPT support for capture efforts, contract documents, and trade studies as required 
  • Participate in Technical Review Boards (TRBs), and other program reviews and boards, as required
  • Communicate effectively and clearly present technical approaches and findings at technical and program reviews and boards.
  • Apply extensive technical expertise in the development of technical solutions to complex problems which require the regular use of ingenuity and creativity. 

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) field from an accredited university, with 9 years of engineering experience or 7 years with a Master’s Degree.
  • Must have an active DoD Secret clearance or higher
  • Experience in systems engineering with MBSE, software design, or demonstrated ability to work with software-aided design tools in the development of system architecture
  • The ability to obtain program access (PAR)
  • Proven team leadership experience in program integration, operations, program execution, proposals, & capture efforts to meet quality, performance, cost, and schedule earned value requirements
  • The ability to effectively communicate with engineers and management from multiple disciplines
  • Risk management experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Working knowledge of MBSE tools such as Cameo, Magic Draw, Rhapsody, Sparx EA, and/or Enterprise Architect
  • Capable of standing up a Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) environment
  • Experience in developing, managing, and decomposing requirements
  • Demonstrated communication and technical writing skills.
  • Proven ability to brief technical presentations to both internal and external stakeholders
  • An active DoD Top Secret clearance

Salary Range: $152,100 USD - $228,100 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
