Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems is seeking a Mission Engineering Manager (System Engineering Manager 2) who will be responsible for the direct supervision & management of the Mission Engineering team within the Systems Engineering Integration & Test (SEIT) IPT on the E-2D Advanced Hawkeye program in Melbourne, FL.

The successful candidate will:

• Ensure projects and programs are properly staffed to be completed on schedule and within budget
• Perform systems engineering technical planning, cost estimating and risk analyses on developmental programs
• Lead data-driven Systems Engineering on new development programs
• Translate corporate objectives, guidelines and policies into objective-oriented direction to team members
• Demonstrate full working knowledge of Systems Engineering procedures and practices
• Balance staffing and prioritize assignments based on program needs
• Performs mission engineering activities to ensure continuity between desired operational capabilities and delivered system performance, through the Systems Engineering “V”
• Work with functional homeroom in defining employee goals, setting performance expectations, and conducting performance evaluations
• Lead the demonstration of new system-of-systems concepts and technology insertion efficacy to customers, technical leadership, and external organizations
• Acquire industry standard toolsets and/or provide requirements for internal development of new analysis, modeling and simulation tools

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline and 9 years’ experience OR Master's Degree in a STEM discipline and 7 years experience
• Must have an active DoD Secret clearance.
• Must be able to attain and maintain Special Program Access (PAR/SAP)
• Experience with processing and analyzing large data sets
• Knowledge of object-oriented or functional programming principles
• Experience with systems modeling, simulation, and analysis
• Experience building and managing high performing teams
• Must have strong technical writing and communication skills, and willingness to be flexible in evolving program environments

 
Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with applied probability and statistics
• Experience with IEEE distributed simulation standards (HLA/DIS)
• Proven record of effective communication and presentation skills
• Experience in all aspects of the engineering development lifecycle
• Knowledge of Department of Defense acquisition life cycle
• Familiarity with Agile, MBSE, and/or system architecture best practices and standards
• Experience implementing modern engineering practices on legacy programs

Salary Range: $127,700 USD - $191,500 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
