Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for Airworthiness Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals in our Airworthiness organization. This role is located in Melbourne, FL.

In this role, you will perform development of basis of certification, determines methods of compliance, and compliance verification. Achieves the logical and systematic realization of customer airworthiness compliance (MIL-HDBK-516, civil, and international standards) into system solutions to meet program objectives (e.g., flight releases, type certification, continued airworthiness, and operational or airspace integration). Reviews and coordinates with other Airworthiness Engineers, as well as with internal engineering disciplines at all levels of the air system to include: design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance, and disposal. Reviews functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation, interface definition, hardware, and software specifications for airworthiness compliance to the appropriate regulations, standards, and/or guidelines. Manages airworthiness activities throughout the development, sustainment, and disposal lifecycles. Basic communication, analysis and problem-solving skills must be displayed. Noted contributions to program/project upon completion of assigned tasks. 

In this role, you will be responsible for contributing to the completion of milestones associated with specific projects, have the ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team environment, and provide solutions to a variety of technical problems of increasing scope and complexity as assigned. Work is reviewed for soundness of technical judgment, overall adequacy and accuracy. This role may require overtime, odd shifts, and weekend work will occasionally be required.

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor of Science in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline
• 2+ years of program/project management or 0+ years of experience with Master’s degree.
• Must have an active DoD Secret (or higher) clearance (with a background investigation within the past 6 years or enrolled into Continuous Evaluation).
• Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master’s degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline OR Pursuing Master’s degree, STEM field desired.
• Active, In-scope DoD Top Secret or SCI clearance.
• Background in the developmental/operational test maintenance environment: Aircraft Design, Aircraft Avionics & Electrical Systems, Aircraft Testing
• Skillsets in Sub-systems, any one area – Hydraulics, Fuel, ECS, Mechanisms, Fire, Electrical Power and Wiring
• Experience as Project Manager/Program Engineer in Baseline Management, Program Change, Change Integration, Risk and Opportunity Management, and Risk Management Analysis.
• Proficiency using Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and MS Project.

Salary Range: $73,400 USD - $110,000 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
