Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems is looking for an Engineer Systems Modeling Simulation to join our team in our Melbourne, FL location.

Our work influences the investment decisions of our senior leadership and customer program offices. Falling under the umbrella of Operations Research, the Modeling and Simulation discipline itself is a mesh of many fields (e.g., Systems Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Software Engineering, Statistics, Mathematics, etc.) and frequently collaborates across functional disciplines, offering a highly unique opportunity to obtain a broad understanding of many areas or to focus on developing a deep expertise more narrowly in any one of the relevant fields. In this role, you will be asked to work in a team environment to conduct research, develop models, and perform analysis of a wide variety of system types to drive the development of requirements, refine existing requirements, and influence the pursuit of future technologies and capabilities. You will work within the Product Support organization on forward looking (projection based) metrics to status the health and capabilities of weapon systems. The successful candidate will possess strong communication and technical writing skills, as well as the ability to handle multiple technical tasks.

Skills in the areas of statistics, simulation modeling, trend & sensitivity analysis, data sampling, and computing are essential.

Modeling & Simulation analysis tasks will include:

  • Spares Modeling
  • Readiness Modeling
  • Obsolescence forecasting
  • Level of Repair (LOR) analysis
  • Cost Analysis
  • Business Case Analysis

The selected candidate should thrive in a fast-paced work environment with high expectations, significantly diverse assignments, and collaborative/team settings across all levels.

Basic Qualifications for Engineer Systems Modeling and Simulation

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) with 2+ years of experience in aerospace, defense or related professional industry – OR 0 years with a Master’s Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM)
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Security Clearance within a reasonable amount of time as determined by the company to meet its business needs.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Working knowledge of Discrete Event Simulation
  • Working knowledge of Stochastic Modeling Techniques
  • Working knowledge of Probability and Statistics

Salary Range: $73,400 USD - $110,000 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
