Our Systems Engineering Integration & Test (SEIT) organization provides complex subsystems and defense electronics. This position can be hired as a Senior (Sr.) Principal Systems Engineer depending on qualifications and years of experience. This position is located at our Rolling Meadows, IL location. This opportunity is available in the Systems Design discipline in SEIT. Duties and responsibilities can include:

  • Creating and refining Model Based Systems Engineering Products (System behavioral models, Use Case realizations, State Machines, etc.)
  • Generation and update of specifications in DOORS, including requirements traceability
  • Functional algorithm development
  • Risk assessment and burn down of mitigation steps

In addition, the ideal candidate is a subject matter expert (SME) in the field of communication system and antenna design. Specifically, the ideal candidate will have experience in the following specialty areas in regards to antenna design.

  • Advanced knowledge and recent experience in one or more of the following areas related to EOIR/RF systems: antennas, transmitters & receivers, sensors, and optics
  • Communication hardware, software, and system
  • Real-time signal processing
  • Requirements analysis and allocation as related to Systems Engineering

As part of the SEIT team, a System Design Engineer is exposed to the front-end Systems Engineering process and coordinate across many disciplines to ensure that the system description and requirements are properly and thoroughly defined, captured, and meet the mission need for the end customer.

Additional $10k sign-on bonus for selected candidates who possess an ACTIVE TS/SCI clearance, and an additional $5k sign-on bonuses to selected candidates who possess an active Polygraph.

Basic Qualifications:

  • For Sr. Principal Systems Engineer, BS degree in Electrical Engineering or related technical degree with 9+ years (or MS with 7+ years, or PhD with 4+ years) related experience
  • Demonstrated proficiency in analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent decision making and communication (written and oral) skills
  • Strong work ethic and the ability to work in an integrated product team (IPT) environment
  • Active or Current Top Secret Clearance is required to be considered
  • Must have the ability to obtain SCI level access

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced knowledge and experience in antenna design
  • Familiarity with orbital mechanics, dynamics and controls, rendezvous and proximity operations (RPO), orbit determination, and attitude planning
  • Full life cycle experience developing, integrating, and deploying space systems
  • Working knowledge of DOORS
  • Recent experience in requirements allocation & derivation, and verification traceability
  • Model Based Systems Engineering experience, especially in Cameo
  • Agile development experience, including use of Atlassian products
  • Ability and willing to travel
  • Active Top Secret Clearance with SCI and polygraph

Salary Range: $120,000 USD - $180,000 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
