Northrop Grumman's Mission Systems Manufacturing Organization is seeking a Manager 2, Manufacturing Systems Engineering to join the Operations Engineering Leadership Team.

The Manufacturing Systems Engineering Manager will become part of Northrop Grumman's Operations Engineering Leadership Team with functional management responsibilities, initially focused in producing world class products in the Advanced Interconnects and Multilayer Solutions (AIMS) manufacturing cell.

AIMS is committed to the rapid development, manufacture and delivery of leading-edge discriminating products, utilizing advances in organic materials, technology and processing to meet or exceed customer expectations. The Manufacturing Systems Engineering Manager will lead a team that facilitate the fabrication of printed wiring boards, manifolds, and backplanes for next generation RF hardware.  
 

Roles and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Personnel management duties including supporting career development, employee engagement, time approval, staffing, yearly reviews, and all other related activities

  • Oversight of direct report's work on various projects developing or maintaining Manufacturing Processes within AIMS providing superior overall customer satisfaction in all cases

  • Serving as the process owner for AIMS Product & Process development- including all aspects of producibility, affordability, quality, technology roadmaps, and related activities

  • Brief upper management, project management and customers, as required, on process technology, product issue resolution, personnel development plans and status, organization issues/progress, etc.

  • Work with area management, subject matter experts, suppliers, etc. (as required) to quickly and efficiently troubleshoot and solve issues related to the production of AIMS Products

  • Support Manufacturing Process development, including all aspects of producibility, affordability, quality, technology roadmaps, and related activities

  • Collaborate with manufacturing team members to ensure clarity of quotations and deliverables as well as promote knowledge transfer

  • Work with area management, subject matter experts, suppliers, etc. (as required) to quickly and efficiently troubleshoot and solve issues related to the machined assemblies

  • Support the planning, coordinating of capital equipment and process development projects; financial budgets

The chosen candidate will be a well-organized, enthusiastic individual with strong interpersonal and written communication skills and a passion for people, innovation, and for excellence. She/he will also have the ability to communicate effectively with multiple disciplines to solve complex issues.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree and 9 years of relevant experience (or 7 years with an MS degree)

  • Experience in development of Electronic products or Mechanical Assemblies and Manufacturing Processes

  • Prior Program, People, or Project Management or Leadership experience

  • Must be able to obtain a Secret Clearance

  • Fluent in MS Office software applications

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering or other related STEM area 

  • Experience with microelectronics manufacturing or detailed design experience

  • Experience as a Process or Project Lead

  • Experience with radar products and components

  • Manufacturing Engineering or Manufacturing management experience

  • Detailed experience and understanding of die attach, interconnect and hermetic sealing process technologies, equipment, and materials

  • Ability to obtain or currently possess a Top Secret Clearance

  • Knowledge of multi-layer ceramic technology

  • Familiarity with MIL-STD and Space class hardware requirements

  • Manufacturing engineering experience including process control and control plan development

  • Six Sigma Black belt/Green belt certification from an accredited program

  • Direct career experience working in a represented manufacturing workforce environment

MANUMS


Salary Range: $141,100 USD - $211,700 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
