Northrop Grumman's Life Cycle Sustainment Operations group is seeking a Testing & Repair Engineer to support the repair and testing operations of airborne radars and test sets.  The engineer will apply Radio Frequency (RF) engineering principals to support analysis and process support for legacy and emerging technologies. Familiarization with a wide variety of systems including radars would be a positive.

The position consists of engineering support in the form(s) of:

  • Troubleshooting and performance evaluation of older test set.This includes test set modification with documentation
  • Design and integration of new test sets
  • Unit under test evaluations
  • Documenting test procedures
  • Interface with program offices
  • Generate technical reports; track and report on performance
  • Estimate work efforts (hours and schedule) and other ongoing tasks in support of an operational system.

Mature verbal and written skills are required, and work efforts are in a variety of areas including office spaces and testing areas. The position is hands on working with the commodities and test sets, includes interface with vendors, in house prime mission equipment engineering, test design mechanical/electrical engineering as well as Purchasing, Operations and Manufacturing functional groups.

Basic Qualifications

  • BS degree in Electrical Engineering
  • Computer Engineering or closely related technical degree with 3 years related experience or a Master's with 0.5years related experience or
  • 20 or more years of experience in a technical field in lieu of degree with at least 10 years in the test and repair field
  • Proficiency in MS Office is required (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Ability to obtain a US Secret Level security clearance is required (US Citizenship is a prerequisite. An interim Secret level security clearance will be required soon after start).

Requires a strong technical background (electrical and software); with experience testing RF circuitry and troubleshooting to the component level by following schematics.

Team oriented individual with strong communication skills and the ability to effectively interface with various internal and external customers and functional groups including: vendors, engineering, purchasing, operations and manufacturing.


Salary Range: $90,600 USD - $136,000 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
