One of our most challenging new fields is Microelectronics Design and Applications (MDA), which combines the unique properties of superconductivity and quantum mechanics to develop radical new energy-efficient computing systems. MDA is seeking a Sr. Staff Systems Engineer with demonstrated ability to lead systems engineers in the development of new technologies to support our innovative MDA team in support of emerging supercomputing technologies.
What You’ll Get to Do:
- Collaborate cross-functionally and multi-discipline to ensure system/subsystem/software designs align with system definitions.
- Support planning and execution of system/subsystems/software/hardware integration, (formal qualification) test, requirements specification and verification activities.
- Interface with inter-organizational management and external Customer to communicate technical briefing and program status.
- Develop, manage, analyze, and trace Requirements, to generate stakeholder needs definitions, requirements, use cases, and CONOPS.
- Assist with the generation of well-defined and executable system, subsystem, and software requirements documents, interface documents, and test and verification documents.
- Support the preparation of system/software engineering materials during System Requirements Review, System Functional Review, Preliminary Design Review, Critical Design Review, System Verification Review, Test Readiness Review, and other program reviews as needed.
This position is contingent on clearance.
This position will serve on-site in Linthicum / Annapolis Junction, MD.
Basic Qualifications for Sr. Staff Systems Engineer:
- Bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline with 14 years of experience, a Master's degree in a STEM discipline with 12 years of experience or a PhD in a STEM discipline with 10 years of experience.
- Demonstrated ability to interface and collaborate with cross-functional, multi-discipline teams to deliver engineering outcomes
- Ability to translate mission needs into specific, testable, execution/operation focused requirements.
- Demonstrated Model Based Systems Engineering experience using SysML or similar.
- Demonstrated experience with Systems Development Lifecycle focused on Stakeholder needs identification through Test Verification and Validation.
- This position requires the applicant to be a U.S. citizen
- Current Active DoD TS/SCI with poly clearance per business requirements.
Preferred Qualifications for Sr. Staff Systems Engineer:
- Demonstrated Experience working with CAMEO or other similar MBSE management tool.
- Experience developing engineering artifacts to achieve SRR through CDR.
- Knowledge of Systems Engineering processing from generation of an Integrated Master Plan (IMP) to Work Product Breakdown into Integrated Master Schedules (IMS) for the development of complex systems of systems.
- Master’s degree or PhD in STEM or technical management.
- Understanding of DoD systems engineering requirements (UAF).
- Multi-Disciplinary Engineering exposure (Software, Hardware, Electrical) and strong ability to communicate cross functionally.
- Experience managing contracts of $10M+
