Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems (NGAS) has an exciting career opportunity for a Test Director to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals in support of the MQ-4C Triton program test activities. This position will be located at NAS (Naval Air Station) Patuxent River, MD.

 

The MQ-4C Triton test team has an opening for a Test Director (TD) to conduct developmental ground and flight tests. This individual will synthesize customer contractual needs and requirements into air vehicle and mission systems test solutions that acknowledges technical, schedule and cost constraints. As a key member of the Triton Integrated Test Team, they interface with the customer to develop, prepare, and modify comprehensive test plans, flight profiles and test cards. They coordinate schedules and resources for completing ground and flight tests. They will integrate tests and develop strategies to improve test efficiency.

 

The TD reviews and evaluates test requirements to insure completeness of the test program. They perform technical analysis of complete systems and prepare comprehensive system level evaluations. They document test results in Test Director notes and post test reports.

 

Additional duties include supporting Contractor Lead Test Engineer, and representing NGC during Multi-INT capability testing discussions.  EW/SIGINT experience desired. Will work with customer to prepare amendments to test plans, and flight clearances.

 

Basic Qualifications:

  • Minimum Education/Experience: 9 years with a Bachelors degree in science/engineering/math; 7 with a Masters; 4 with a PhD.
  • Must have experience as a test conductor/director or flight test aircrew.
  • Requires excellent interpersonal and organizational skills as well as oral/written communication skills are required.
  • Must have a Secret security clearance and be able to obtain a Top Secret clearance.
  • Must be willing to work a flexible work schedule that may include extended shifts, weekends and holidays.
  • Must be able to work plane side both indoors and outside. 
  • The ability to obtain and retain a Program Security Clearance is required as a condition of employment.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • SIGINT/ESM/RADAR/EOIR fight test experience desired.
  • Test Pilot School graduate and/or operational flight/flight test experience desired.  
  • DOD Top Secret clearance and the ability to obtain and retain a SAP clearance.

 

 


Salary Range: $117,700 USD - $176,500 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
