Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for a Test Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Clearfield, UT.

You will be a part of an Engineering and Manufacturing Development Team supporting the process development and product design of an external protection material. Responsibilities:

  • Develop test matrices, test data requirements, success criteria and test fixture details
  • Work with department subject matter experts to determine test sample configuration, author test plans, and coordinate with Global Supply Chain for test house contracts
  • Prepare and conduct Test Readiness Reviews with internal and external customers
  • Participate in product testing at various test sites across the United States
  • Prepare test reports and present on findings internally and externally

This role is day shift with minimal off hour support.  We work a 9/80 schedule, which gives you every other Friday off to pursue interest outside of work.  A typical work day is 7:00AM to 4:30PM with daily team start up meeting at 7:30AM.

Travel is up to 25%, all within the continental US and involves support at test sites when product is scheduled to be tested. Typical business travel is 2 - 5 days.

This role may be filled at an Engineer or Principal Engineer level depending on the qualifications below. 

Basic Qualifications:

Engineer

  • Bachelor's Degree in a STEM field (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math) with 2+ years of engineering experience; or Master's degree in STEM with 0+ years engineering experience
  • Experience in materials test design and execution activities
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a secret security clearance from the Department of Defense
     

Principal Engineer

  • Bachelor's Degree in a STEM field (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math) with 5+ years of engineering experience; or Master's degree with 3+ years of engineering experience; or PhD with 0+ years of engineering experience
  • Experience in materials test design and execution activities
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a secret security clearance from the Department of Defense
     

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Chemical Engineering
  • Basic understanding of rubber / polymer materials and processes

Salary Range: $66,600 USD - $99,800 USD
Salary Range 2: $82,000 USD - $123,000 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
