Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking a Sr. Principal Systems Engineer. This position will be located in Roy, UT and will be part of the Payloads team supporting Sentinel (Ground Based Strategic Deterrent (GBSD)) program.

What you’ll get to do:

  • Perform requirements analysis, develop source data for requirements, generate requirements verification, and help prepare test plans and procedures
  • Participate in technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for mechanical, electrical and integrated systems
  • Create and maintain SysML and Unified Profile for DoDAF/MODAF (UPDM) models in Cameo EA; interface with subject matter experts, analysts, architects, designers, system engineers and specialty engineers to capture Payload Systems Sentinel structure and behavior using accurate UPDM/SysML representations according to Object Management Group (OMG) standards.
  • Apply the principles of engineering to design components and systems using applicable standards and specifications
  • Verify specifications and designs through modeling and simulation, test data processing, and performance analysis
  • Support all phases of the systems lifecycle including concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal
  • Maintain design documentation and follow configuration management requirements
  • Develop Basis of Estimates (BOEs) for the systems engineering function
  • Interface with AF customer.

This position’s standard work schedule is a 9/80A. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off. This role may offer a competitive relocation assistance package.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline
  • A minimum 9 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree; 7 years with a Master’s; or 4 years with PhD
  • U.S. Citizenship with active DoD Secret clearance and ability to obtain a DoD Top Secret Clearance
  • Eligible for Special Access Program Clearance with clearance obtained or reviewed in the last 6 years
  • Requirements Management experience including functional Block Diagrams, Specification Trees
  • Experience with systems and end item requirements validation and verification
  • Experience with Systems Architecture, Systems Integration, N2 Analysis, Trade Studies

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with ICBM Weapon System
  • Experience with any of the following tools and languages: CORE, DOORS, Rhapsody, Cameo, ModelCenter, MagicDraw, Easy Power, Prima Vera, UML, SysML
  • Experience with the following:
  •  ICBM Reentry System/Reentry Vehicle experience as basic qualification
  • Extensive experience in Systems Engineering and any of the following areas:
    • Requirements Management: MBSE, Functional Block Diagrams, Specification Trees
    • Systems and end item requirements validation and verification
    • Design: Systems Design, Systems Architecture, Systems Integration, N2 Analysis, Trade Studies
    • General knowledge of multiple engineering disciplines: Safety, Nuclear Hardness, Nuclear Surety, Material Science, Environmental, Parts and Logistics, etc

Salary Range: $112,000 USD - $168,000 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
