Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking a Systems Engineer or Principal Systems Engineer. This position will be located in Roy, UT and will support the Ground Based Strategic Deterrent (GBSD) program. This role may offer a competitive relocation assistance package. This requisition may be filled at a higher grade based on qualifications listed below.

What you’ll get to do: 

  • Provide support for day-to-day operations using Agile practices, and adhere to Agile methodology to enforce Scrum compliance among the teams.
  • Act as an Agile coach and mentor to other scrum masters, Product Owners, and team members to impart or reinforce knowledge of Agile concepts, tools and practices.
  • Facilitate sprint ceremonies, such as Sprint Planning, Review, Retrospective, Daily Scrums, and Backlog Refinement.
  • Work with team leads and Product Owners on schedule and Program Increment planning to ensure user stories and sprints align with deadlines.
  • Use Agile tools such as Atlassian Jira to aid in Scrum coordination.
  • Aid in providing additional Agile metrics, including collating and deriving insights from data.
  • Support systems engineering activities including use case development, requirements definition/allocation, functional decomposition, interface definition, verification & validation, and requirements traceability to the test plans
  • Coordinate with integrated product teams for establishing content within the architecture.
  • Interface with customers, program management and technical staff.

This position’s standard work schedule is a 9/80A. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.

You’ll bring these qualifications:

This requisition may be filled at either a Systems Engineer or Principal Systems Engineer.

Systems Engineer

  • BS – Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM)  
  • A minimum 2 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree; 0 years with a Master’s

Principal Systems Engineer

  • BS – Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM)  
  • a minimum 3 years with a Master’s degree; or 0 years with a PhD)

Both Systems and Principal Systems Engineer

  • Active DoD Secret clearance with investigation in the past 5 years and ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) access
  • Experience developing models with Cameo or equivalent tools
  • Experience using Requirements repository tools (i.e. ,DOORS).
  • Experience with Systems Modeling Language (SysML)
  • Experience with Agile methodologies (i.e., Scrum)
  • Experience with Atlassian Jira
  • Excellent organizational and facilitation skills

These qualifications would be nice to have:

  • Active Top Secret Security Clearance
  • Previous Systems Engineering experience and understanding of the Systems Engineering
  • Experience with physical security systems
  • Experience with Agile Development
  • Experience leading scrum teams
  • Experience as a Product Owner
  • Experience with implementing Agile metrics (i.e., burndown, velocity)
  • Holds Scrum certification such as Professional Scrum Master (PSM) or Certified Scrum Master (CSM) Certified

Salary Range: $73,400 USD - $110,000 USD
Salary Range 2: $90,400 USD - $135,600 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
