Northrop Grumman’s Space Systems sector is seeking a Staff Systems Engineer.  This position is in our Strategic Deterrent Systems Division to in support of the Sentinel Ground Based Strategic Deterrent (GBSD) program in support of the United States Air Force.  This position will be located on campus in Roy, UT.

What You’ll Get To Do: 

Specific duties to include, but are not limited to the following:

• Support Segment Model Based System Engineering (MBSE) System Engineer Subject Matter Expert supporting the Systems Architecture development using MBSE concepts
• Work with the program engineers to drive MBSE governance development within the Sentinel program to apply concepts and practices to Support Equipment
• Performs technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for Support Equipment
• Analyses are performed at all levels of support equipment product lifecycle to include: concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal
• Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into support equipment and total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints
• Performs functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into support equipment specifications
• Develops Architectural framework products using CAMEO MBSE product toolsets

This position’s standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.   

Basic Qualifications:

• Staff System Engineer:  Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM) with 14 years’ experience; 12 years’ experience with a Master’s degree; or 9 years’ experience with a PhD 
• Must be a US Citizen with ability to obtain Special Access Program (SAP) Clearance  
• Active DoD Secret clearance with investigation in the past 6 years.
• 5+ years’ experience with Model Based System Engineering (MBSE) Tools (Cameo, Magic Draw, Rhapsody or similar)
• Experience with Requirements management tools (DOORS, for example)

Preferred Qualifications:

• Team Leadership of Model Based Systems Engineering projects on major defense programs
• Deep knowledge of DODAF and SYSML architecture
• Experience with and desire to mentor junior engineers
• Experience with large scale aerospace/defense projects

Salary Range: $139,000 USD - $208,600 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
