Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking a Manger of Test Equipment Design Engineering Team.  This position will be located in Roy, Utah and will support the Sentinel (GBSD) program.  This role may offer a competitive relocation assistance package.  

This position is in our Strategic Deterrent Systems Division to execute the Engineering and Manufacturing Development phase of the Sentinel Ground Based Strategic Deterrent (GBSD) program in support of the United States Air Force. The qualified candidate will work within an Integrated Product Team (IPT) environment, interfacing with IPT leadership, suppliers, customers, and other technical disciplines to engineer design solutions to challenging problems through the management and development of Product Definition Packages (PDP) and Vendor Item Control Drawings (VICD). PDPs consists of 2D drawings and 3D models (NX), various design analyses/assessments (structural/thermal), bill of materials and parts lists (ASME format), and requirements.  VICDs consist of procurement requirements, notes, 3D models (NX), and suggested sources of supply. Estimate of 60% Technical, 20% CAM & 20% functional management activities.
  
What You’ll Get To Do:?   
•    Responsible for daily operations of a team (direct supervision of the staff, assignment of work, schedules, day to day workflow, and operating costs). 
•    Manage cost, schedule, and technical performance of the Test Equipment Design Engineering team ensuring on-time and on-cost deliveries.
•    Manage workloads and tasking for the Test Equipment Design Engineering team members and make decisions relating to accomplishments of daily work responsibilities.
•    Ensure team members have the required tools and access to perform design engineering responsibilities.
•    Perform semi-annual performance assessments with your team members.
•    Assist team members with career development.
•    Collaborate with other engineering managers to align priorities and support overall execution of program objectives.
•    Regularly provide highlights of accomplishments and help needed to leadership. 
•    Actively assists or provides direction and mentoring to subordinates as required.
•    Develop PDP and VICD Engineering Packages as a contributing member of your own team.

This position’s standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.

The expected travel will be travel to Promontory, Utah.

Basic Qualifications:
•    Bachelors’ degree in an Engineering, Math, Physics or related field and 5 years minimum experience; 3 years of experience with a Masters' degree
•    Active Secret Security Clearance or higher adjudicated within 6 years
•    Able to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) clearance. 
•    2 years of experience in any combination of Systems Engineering, Integration and Test, or Design Engineering disciplines.
•    1 year of experience leading projects or cross-functional teams
•    1 year of experience in mentoring junior engineers
•    1 year of experience in process development or process improvement
•    1 year of experience with engineering drawing development and configuration management 

Preferred Qualifications
•    Proven experience in the Product Definition Package (PDP) and Vendor Item Control Drawing (VICD) development and release processes  
•    ICBM experience 
•    Experience in design and fabrication techniques for structural details, assemblies, and installations 
•    Experience in performing in an Agile environment and knowledge/understanding of JIRA 
•    Familiarity with applicable ASME and MIL Standards 
•    Experience as a Technical Lead Reviewer for PDP and VICD Engineering Packages
•    Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) experience 
•    Knowledge/proficiency of design tools including CPLM TeamCenter and Siemens NX 
•    Experience in People and Technical Leadership roles.
•    Earned Value Management System certification

Salary Range: $96,700 USD - $145,100 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
