Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking Staff Test Data & Analysis Lead Engineer to join the Systems Test Team (STT).   This position is in Roy, UT and supports the Ground Based Strategic Deterrent (GBSD) program.   

What You’ll Get To Do:

The Lead Software Engineer is responsible for developing software for the System Test Team (STT). The Lead Software Engineer is responsible for developing and guiding the SW architecture of the project, including design patterns, trade studies, and technology decisions.  The Lead will lead the development of SW architecture artifacts including UML models (in Cameo) and will lead the preparation of SW-related CDR deliverables.  The Lead will act as the Agile SW Product owner in the development of a complex SW project and will be expected to develop complex components in addition to providing oversight for a team of SW developers.  The Lead will join a project in the early phases of development and should have experience successfully implementing development processes and training SW engineers.  The Lead is responsible for making sure SW development complies w/ SW processes, SW style-guides and governance for the program.  This position requires mentorship and training of both junior and senior engineers.

What you will get to do, specific duties to include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Interface with requirements and deriving design from requirements in a model based systems engineering environment

  • Derive and allocate requirements into detailed design

  • Designs, develops and tests User Interface displays, controls and functionality

  • Designs, develops and tests simulation software for use in integrated system test and automated testing

  • Design, develop, and document the Software per Contractual Data Requirement List (CDRL) and System Metrics standards

  • Collaborates with System Integration & Test, Human Factors, System & Range Safety, Cyber Security and Quality Engineers to ensure software requirements are met

  • Performs software peer reviews, version control, automated tests, software analysis, continuous integration, and continuous delivery in accordance with DevSecOps processes and best practices

  • Performs code quality management and corrects defects through unit test

  • Coordinates with HW/SW team to perform retests and regression tests once defects are corrected

Candidate should have:

  • Previous practical experience bridging requirements into software design and implementation including active work in DOORs and architecture models through detailed design documentation and into code

  • Strong experience with build automation tools such as Gradle, or Jenkins

  • Strong experience with Java/C/C++ development

  • Experience with Linux and Windows operating systems

  • Familiarity with distributed version control software (GitLab, Mercurial)

  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban)

  • Familiar with requirements management using DOORS. 

  • Familiar with MBSE using UML and DoDAF.

This positions standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off. This role may offer a competitive relocation assistance package.

Job Qualifications:

You’ll Bring These Qualifications:

  • US Citizenship with an Active Secret Clearance or higher (awarded within the past 6 years) with the ability to receive a Special Access Program (SAP) certification

  • 14 Years with Bachelors in Science; 12 Years with Masters; 9 Years with PhD. or 4 additional years in lieu of a degree

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Full lifecycle software development experience (Requirements, Design, Implementation, Integration, and Test)

  • Experience with working in an agile environment with the ability to work on Scrum team focused on quality and capability delivery

These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:

  • Experience as Agile SW Product Owner

  • Experience w/ IADS &/or LabView SW

  • Experience Implementing and testing user interfaces

  • Creating model-based system designs in Cameo

  • Demonstrated experience in extracting and analyzing data from Atlassian products.

  • Strong experience with deployment automation tools such as Ansible

  • Experience with developing CI/CSCI workflows and utilizing tools such as Nexus, Maven, Jira, GitLab, and Release Management

  • Experience with Kubernetes, Docker, and/or other cloud orchestration technologies

  • Security+ or equivalent certification

  • Familiarity with DevSecOps, continuous integration, and continuous delivery, Scaled Agile Framework – SAFe for Lean Enterprises

  • Experience leading a project through major design reviews such as CDR, including development of design artifacts

Salary Range: $139,000 USD - $208,600 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
