Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking a Training Systems Engineering Manager 2 in support of the Sentinel Ground Based Strategic Deterrent (GBSD) program. This position will be in Roy, UT.  Northrop Grumman supports the Air Force’s sustainment, development, production and deployment of hardware and system modifications for Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM) Ground and Airborne Launch Control Systems, Launch Facilities and associated infrastructure.

What You’ll Get To Do: 

Specific duties to include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Responsible for providing leadership and direction to the Training Services Team members to ensure compliance with all contractual, program, and corporate operational requirements to meet Government customer’s needs.
  • Leading efforts to develop compliant and compelling training systems, CDRLs and quality plans/processes for training devices delivery.
  • Leading efforts to gather requirements from the USAF customer and translate these into requirements compliant and compelling training systems, CDRLs and quality plans/processes for training devices delivery.
  • Managing and effectively communicating Training Systems Team program dependencies, critical path, and expectations to team members and program stakeholders, including senior-customer level engagements, presentations and reports to IPT senior management team.
  • Manage and oversight of major suppliers/partners in support of Training Services team.
  • Evaluating effectiveness of daily actions and systems; troubleshoot any potential and/or existing problems; work with appropriate individuals to put solutions into action.
  • Assisting in developing/negotiating contract changes, specifications, budgets, schedules and establishes terms and conditions for GBSD training systems and training delivery approaches as EMD and Production/Deployment phases mature.
  • Developing strategic and tactical plans and processes to provide training capabilities accurately reflecting all required aspects of the operational weapon system consistent with company agile principles.
  • Supporting staffing actions of training program organization to address customer requirements effectively and efficiently within parameters of the NG GBSD proposal for Training Services team.
  • Supplemental Responsibilities may include:
  • Enforcing quality and performance management and reporting actions related to all major areas of responsibility including the incorporation and execution of best practices and to minimize risks and optimize opportunities.
  • Leading development and implementation of innovative business support, mentoring, partnering, and proactive planning and execution processes.
  • Recruitment and sustainment efforts.
  • Ensuring the resolution of inter- and intra-organizational problems in areas of responsibility.
  • Performing other duties as assigned.

This position’s standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.   

Job Qualifications: 

You’ll Bring These Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) disciplines from an accredited university and 6 years of related experience, or a Master’s Degree in a related discipline and 4 years of relevant experience.
  • Must be a US Citizen with an active DoD Secret Clearance with an investigation date within the last 6 years.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) Clearance  
  • 1+ years' experience leading a project and/or driving performance against schedule
  • 1+ years’ experience leading a diverse group of personnel to accomplish tasks that are not well defined

These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:

  • 10+ years of leading industry or military training development programs
  • ICBM operational experience
  • Executive level communication skills
  • Instructor experience (military preferred)
  • Training System Analysis experience
  • Master's degree in business or training related discipline
  • Current Sentinel program read in

Salary Range: $127,700 USD - $191,500 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
