Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking a Staff Systems Engineer in support of the Sentinel program.  Northrop Grumman supports the Air Force’s sustainment, development, production and deployment of hardware and system modifications for Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM) Ground and Airborne Launch Control Systems, Launch Facilities and associated infrastructure.  This position is located in Roy, Utah.

What You’ll Get To Do:

Technical oversight of a large subcontract for Nuclear Certified Support Equipment and Delta Flight Test Vehicle as well as other internal projects within the sub-IPT as the technical lead for PLTs Advanced Equipment Sub-IPT. 

Specific duties to include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Lead a team of engineers in technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, risk management, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for mechanical, electrical and integrated systems
  • Lead a team of engineers for technical oversight of a large subcontract
  • Interface with the AF customer and external stakeholders such as National Labs
  • Apply the principles of engineering to design components and systems using applicable standards and specifications
  • Verify specifications and designs through modeling and simulation, test data processing, and performance analysis
  • Support all phases of the systems lifecycle including concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal
  • Coordinate within PLT, the AVE Segment, and across the Sentinel Program to ensure technical baseline integration and compliance

This position’s standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.   This role may offer a competitive relocation assistance package.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university and 14 years of related engineering experience; 12 years with Master's degree; or, 9 years with a PhD
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen with an active DoD Secret clearance with investigation within the last 6 years or in Continuous Evaluation (CE) with the ability to obtain Special Program Access
  • Experience with ICBM Reentry Systems, Reentry Vehicles, or Warhead National Labs
  • 5 years of experience with Nuclear Certified Support Equipment and/or Flight Test Vehicles

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 15 years of experience with ICBM Weapon System, Reentry Systems, Reentry Vehicles, or Warhead National Labs
  • Experience leading teams for Reentry Systems design and/or procurement
  • Experience working for National Labs and/or interfacing with National Labs
  • Active Top Secret Security Clearance

Salary Range: $139,000 USD - $208,600 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
