Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking an MBSE Systems Engineer/Principal Systems Engineer. This position will be located in Roy, Utah and will support the Strategic Deterrent Systems Division to include the Sentinel (GBSD) program.

The selected candidate does not need to have an active clearance, but must be able to obtain a security clearance prior to starting in this role. This posting is for candidates that do not have a Secret clearance, but are able and willing to wait (to start) for the Secret clearance to be obtained (by the company).

In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring and enforcing consistency on the Model-Based implementation of the architecture design.  You will work with the System Engineering & Integration (SE&I) team, as well as with Program and Element Systems Engineering teams. 

Responsibilities (may include any or all of the following):

  • Maintain structure and arrangement of the Cameo Model and remove inconsistent architectural artifacts
  • Create new and adapt existing models, methods, and analysis capabilities to conduct studies to support the design, development, and assessment of advanced system design concepts and technologies
  • Perform routine audits and provide findings to delinquent architects on the team
  • Remove all deprecated and duplicative design elements and errant relationships
  • Prepare model for final Major Design Review deliveries including construction of Architectural Overview diagrams and all MDR dashboards
  • Responsible for initial and subsequent synchronizations of data into the model from external databases.
  • Identify areas and methods for improvement on overall model organization and performance
  • Serve as direct point of contact to the System and other IPT-level model governors and model governance boards. Ensures architecture team consistency to overall Program Style and process guides

This position’s standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.

This position may include a competitive relocation assistance package.

Basic Qualifications:

This position may be filled at either the Systems Engineer level (Level 2) or at the Principal Systems Engineer (Level 3), based on the qualifications listed below.

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) discipline
  • Level 2: A minimum of 2 years of related experience with a bachelor’s degree; 0 years with a Master’s. (at least 1 degree must be STEM discipline)
  • Level 3: A minimum of 5 years with a bachelor’s degree; 3 years with a Master’s degree; or 0 years with a PhD) (at least 1 degree must be STEM discipline)
  • Experience with Model-Based Engineering / Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBE/MBSE) practices, languages and/or tools such as Cameo, Rhapsody or MagicDRAW
  • Experience with requirements management/analysis/allocations using tools such as DOORS (IBM Rational)
  • US Citizenship and ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance (required to obtain prior to start)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Active DoD Secret/ Top Secret clearance, granted or re-investigated within the last 6 years or in continuous evaluation
  • Experience modeling with Cameo Enterprise Architecture or MagicDraw (No Magic, Inc.)
  • Experience with DOORS
  • Experience with architecture modeling language such as SysML, DoDAF or UML
  • Experience with complex system development on large programs

Salary Range: $73,400 USD - $110,000 USD
Salary Range 2: $90,400 USD - $135,600 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
