We have openings for an FPGA/ASIC Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals in the Tactical Space organization. This position will be located in Dulles, VA.

In this role, you will be responsible for research, requirements analysis and systems architecture, design, coding, test bench design, verification, synthesis and place, & route for our Command and Data Handling (CD&H) products. The qualified applicant will join the Electrical Engineering Avionics department that specializes in FPGA/ASIC for space applications.

Duties and responsibilities include:

  • VHDL design of FPGA and/or ASIC logic
  • FPGA/ASIC verification via simulation and emulation (lab testing), synthesis, timing analysis, and place and route for FPGA
  • FPGA design for space environment or space application

This position can be filled at the Sr. Principal or Principal level.

Basic Qualifications:

Principal Engineer

  • Bachelor's Degree in a STEM degree (ideally in Electrical or Computer) with 5+ years of experience; or Master's Degree with 3+ years of experience; or a PhD. Degree
  • Well versed in VHDL design for an aerospace environment or space application
  • Proficient in FPGA design flow including items such as RTL/gate level simulation, synthesis, place and route, static timing analysis, and power analysis
  • US Citizen

Sr. Principal Engineer

  • Bachelor's Degree in a STEM degree (ideally in Electrical or Computer) with 9+ years of experience; or Master's Degree with 7+ years of experience; or a PhD. Degree with 4+ years
  • Well versed in VHDL design for an aerospace environment or space application
  • Proficient in FPGA design flow including items such as RTL/gate level simulation, synthesis, place and route, static timing analysis, and power analysis
  • US Citizen

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Electronic Design Automation (EDA) Tools (e.g. Xilinx ISE/ Vivado, Mentor Graphics ModelSim/QuestaSim, Synplify)
  • Implementation of Digital Signal or Image Processing algorithms on FPGAs
  • Expertise achieving timing closure on FPGA designs and generating test benches
  • Experience working with or developing test benches using System Verilog and Universal Verification Methodology (UVM)
  • Experience debugging down to the hardware level & experience using Signal Generators, Logic Analyzers, Digital Oscilloscopes and Embedded FPGA Debugging tools
  • An advanced degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering with a minimum 5 years of FPGA/digital electronics design experience

Salary Range: $101,400 USD - $152,200 USD
Salary Range 2: $125,800 USD - $188,600 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
