We have an opening for an Electronic Ground Support Equipment Integrated Product Team (EGSE IPT) Lead to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals in the Tactical Space organization. This position will be located in Dulles, VA.

Solid interpersonal and communication skills, including critical thinking, are a must, as is the ability to work in an open, friendly environment.

The IPT Lead (EGSE) will be responsible for coordinating with EGSE Software and Hardware teams on the development, integration, testing, and delivery of satellite electrical ground support equipment. You will manage projects with top-down oversight throughout the entire execution (being focal point of contact) to ensure success as defined by adherence to standards of scope, budget, and timeline. You will work with Hardware and Software engineering managers and teams to monitor project progress continuously and make detailed scheduled reports on measurable items such as milestones and deliverables. You will communicate proactively with all involved personnel to provide encouragement, identify problems, create solutions, and implement efficiency improvements.

Additionally, you will serve as the Scrum Master for the team and be responsible for ensuring that Agile methodologies are implemented and followed throughout the development and submittal to customer. You will communicate project statuses on a regular basis to management and teams, as well as, create and execute project plans and revise as appropriate to meet changing project needs, shifting resources, and client requirements.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate internal resources and third parties/vendors for the flawless execution of projects
  • Develop a detailed project plan to track progress

·      Use appropriate verification techniques to manage changes in project scope, schedule and costs

  • Report and escalate to management as needed
  • Perform risk management to minimize project risks
  • Collaborate with other IPT Leads to ensure that project dependencies are identified and managed effectively
  • Maintain a high level of technical proficiency and remain capable of performing EGSE work during down time
  • Manage the day-to-day activities and tasks of the team, including task assignments for project, progress tracking, and issue resolution
  • Ensure that project documentation is complete, accurate, and up-to-date
  • Work with other departments to ensure that project requirements are met and that deliverables are of high quality
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to team members

This position can be filled at the Principal or Sr. Principal level.

Basic Qualifications

Principal Engineer

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer or Electrical Engineering (ECE) with 5 yrs. of experience; OR a Master’s degree with 3 yrs. of experience; OR a PhD
  • Strong understanding of Agile methodologies and experience serving as a Scrum Master
  • Experience leading a team of engineers
  • US Citizenship

Sr. Principal Engineer

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer or Electrical Engineering (ECE) with 9 yrs. of experience; OR a Master’s degree with 7 yrs. of experience; OR a PhD with 4 yrs.
  • Strong understanding of Agile methodologies and experience serving as a Scrum Master
  • Experience leading a team of engineers
  • US Citizenship

Preferred

  • Technical proficiency in EGSE hardware and software development, integration, and testing
  • 5+ years of experience in EGSE development, integration, and testing

Salary Range: $104,600 USD - $157,000 USD
Salary Range 2: $129,700 USD - $194,500 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
