Management responsibilities for Continuous Improvement (CI) projects and lean initiatives. Develops manufacturing processes that are applicable to statistical process control, and may develop those techniques.  Provides guidance to engineering regarding design concepts and specification requirements to best utilize equipment and manufacturing techniques. Ensures processes and procedures are in compliance with regulations. Designs arrangement of machines within plant facilities to ensure most efficient and productive layout.  Designs sequence of operations and specifies procedures for the fabrication of tools and equipment and other functions that affect product performance. 

Responsibilities:

  • Analyze and design sequence of operations and work flow to improve efficiencies in plant and production facilities and equipment layouts

  • Establish methods for maximum utilization of production facilities and personnel

  • Establish or assist in establishing accident prevention measures

  • May manage training programs for personnel concerning all phases of production operations

  • Conduct studies pertaining to cost control, cost reduction, inventory control, and production record systems. On the basis of these studies, develop and implement plans and programs for facility modifications and revisions to operating methods.

  • May assist facilities engineers in the planning and design of facilities.

  • Bring your industry experience and solutions perspective as we build an industry-leading organization

  • Advance / perpetuate lean manufacturing as much as possible through teaching, demonstration, and general communication

  • Pull together consensus and act as a point of reference for developing and implementing continuous improvement projects based on that consensus

  • Analyze existing operational processes and develop sense for operational needs of team members

Basic Qualifications::

  • Bachelors of Science in Engineering +9 years of experience; Masters Degree + 7 years of experience; PhD + 4 years of experience

  • Proficient in MS Project, Excel & PowerPoint

  • Excellent communicator

  • Demonstrated ability to work both as a team member and individual contributor

  • US Citizenship is a requirement

Preferred Qualifications

  • Leading Kaizen events

  • Lean Black Belt or Six Sigma Certification

  • Demonstrated experience as an “agent of change” through hands-on implementation of Lean, continuous improvement, TPS, TOC, etc.

  • Experience using Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems (SAP or Cost-Point etc.)


Salary Range: $116,200 USD - $174,400 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
