The ESPAStar-D Product Line Chief Engineer (CE) will lead a multi-disciplinary engineering team supporting the design, development, Integration, test, launch and mission operations of a multi-spacecraft product line.  The CE has technical oversight of all programs in the product line.  The CE will guide architecture design, commonality, and processes to meet the objectives of the product line. The CE will collaborate with Program Management, Business Development, Engineering Functions and other organizations as needed to accomplish objectives.  In addition, the CE will maintain cognizance over all technical activities within the ESPAStar-D portfolio to ensure adherence to sound engineering practices and technical rigor while meeting cost and schedule requirements.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) discipline
  • 20+ Years with Bachelors in Science; 18+ Years with Masters; 15+ Years with PhD
  • Experience leading multi-disciplinary technical teams
  • Experience in systems development, integration, and test 
  • Ability to effectively interface with program leadership, functional management, customers, and technical subject matter experts
  • Must have US Citizenship with active or current TS/SCI Clearance

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Master’s degree or PhD in STEM or technical management
  • Domain expertise spacecraft and space systems
  • Familiarity with the ESPAStar-D product line
  • Understanding of DoD systems engineering requirements
  • Experience and/or training in Earned Value Management Systems
  • Experience with Model Based Systems Engineering (Cameo)

Salary Range: $171,400 USD - $257,000 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
