Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for a Staff Engineer SW Infrastructure Architecture Lead to join our Autonomous Collaborative Platform (ACP) / Sidecar team.  The position will report to the Sidecar SEIT organization.  This position can be located in Redondo Beach or El Segundo, CA.

In this role your responsibilities will include the following:

  • Commercial Cloud standup, application management, and user management (to include NG, suppliers, and Government users).
  • Application deployment support to the ACP Integrated Development Environment (IDE).
  • Architecture development of the ACP IDE.
  • Coordination with IPTs on Digital Engineering (DE) requirements and application interfaces.
  • Understand and model key architectural behaviors for ACP/Sidecar.
  • Facilitate working groups with stakeholders to baseline architectural products.
  • Collaborate with all program performers in engineering and program management.
  • Research, trade, and assess viability of new technologies that accelerate the IDE.
  • Deploy best solutions for the IDE.
  • Manage best licensing solutions for the IDE.

The selected candidate should thrive in a fast-paced Agile work environment with diverse assignments, regularly evolving needs and requirements based on Agile development, and collaborative/team settings leveraging the Digital Engineering (DE) tools and services.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math) with 14 years of related professional engineering experience; OR a Master’s degree in STEM with 12 years of related professional engineering experience, or a PhD in STEM with 9 related professional engineering experience.
  • Knowledge of cloud computing foundation and cloud-based environments.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience with software system architecture modeling, using MBSE tools.
  • Experience leading teams and meeting stakeholder needs.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal skills, and the ability to interface with all levels of employees and management.
  • Must have a Department of Defense (DoD) Secret security clearance or higher.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Work experience working in system engineering, DE tools/services, and software development.
  • Familiarity with system and software architecture development and testing, using modern cloud-based and open architectures and platforms.
  • Familiarity with Agile software development methods and processes.
  • Cyber architecture.

    This position reports to El Segundo, CA, USA, however, this position can also be worked from Redondo Beach, CA, CA, USA.


    Salary Range: $161,000 USD - $241,400 USD

    Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
