    Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is actively seeking a Systems Engineer based out of Manhattan Beach, CA to fill a role that requires a mix of traditional systems engineering while also performing as a Product Owner for an Agile Scrum team. We are looking for a highly motivated individual with an impeccable work ethic and a strong ability to work in a collaborative fast-moving dynamic team environment.

  • Responsibilities Include:

  • Developing system and subsystem requirements from user mission needs and tracking requirements throughout the development process.
  • Working closely with developers to ensure software satisfies requirements.
  • Well versed in agile software development and performing collaboration between self-organizing cross-functional scrum teams.
  • Participate in risk analysis and mitigation formation.
  • Support program reviews and creating and/or updating requirement specifications and technical baseline documentation.
  • Basic Qualifications System Engineer:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related degree with 2 years’ relevant experience or a master’s degree in STEM or a High school Diploma / Equivalent and 6 years’ experience may be accepted in lieu if degree
  • 1 year of work experience with requirements management
  • A Secret Clearance with the ability to obtain and maintain Top Secret Clearance and Special Program Access (Must be a U.S. Citizen)
  • Basic Qualifications Principal Systems Engineer Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related degree with 5 years’ relevant experience or a master’s degree in STEM or a High school Diploma / Equivalent and 9 years’ experience may be accepted in lieu if degree
  • 3 years of work experience with requirements management
  • C#
  • Top Secret Clearance and Special Program Access

  • Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in C#, WPF, XAML, and MVVM
  • Experience with Atlassian Suite (Jira/Confluence/Crucible/Bitbucket)
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills; strong interpersonal and analytic skills; Works well in a team-environment
  • Previous in-depth domain knowledge of software design and development
  • Familiarity with XML, XSLT, and XSD schemas
  • Familiarity with Object Oriented Design, Software Design Patterns, and UML diagrams
  • RESTful API development experience, with unit testing
  • Security+ Certification
  • Current DoD Top Secret Clearance
  • Current SCI/SAP access

Salary Range: $85,000 USD - $127,400 USD
Salary Range 2: $104,600 USD - $157,600 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
