Northrop Grumman is seeking an Associate / Systems Test to join the Aeronautics Systems Sector.  

The qualified candidate will become part of the Northrop Grumman’s Test and Evaluation Engineering team.  

Description

Northrop Grumman Aeronautic Systems has an opening at our Palmdale, California facility for an Associate Systems Test Engineer or System Test Engineer within the Test Organization. The primary job responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

Contribute to the development of acceptance test plans, test schedules, and test procedures and provide support for integration testing. Support test planning working groups, readiness reviews, and pre/post-test briefings. Interface with test article design and analysis teams. Maintain metrics on status of testing and constraints. Support test card development and review in collaboration with other engineering disciplines and test operations personnel. Coordinate test equipment and personnel requirements for safe and efficient execution of tests. Provide test execution and/or mission control room support and make real-time decisions regarding safety, efficiency, and effectiveness. Participate in post-test data evaluation and discrepancy resolution.  Review and evaluate test requirements to ensure completeness of test program.

  • Individual must be Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Individual must be able to work under only general direction to determine and develop approaches to solutions; must be able to work both within a team environment and independently; must be self-motivated, thorough, and detailed; and must be willing to learn additional engineering discipline areas.
  • Overtime, odd shifts, and weekend work will occasionally be required. 

Basic Qualifications

Associate System Test Engineer:

  • Bachelor's Degree in STEM with 0 years of experience; Master's Degree with 0 years of experience

System Test Engineer:

  • Bachelor's Degree in STEM with 2 years of experience; Master's Degree with 0 years of experience; PhD with

Both Associate and Systems Test Engineer

  • Must have the ability to obtain and maintain DoD Secret Clearance
  • Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Program Access
  • Must be able to support Overtime, odd shifts, and weekend work as required to meet business needs

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in a Test environment
  • Active Program clearance
  • Proficiency with Integrated Analysis & Data System (IADS)

This position reports to Palmdale, CA, USA, however, this position can also be worked from Edwards AFB, CA, CA, USA.


Salary Range: $63,800 USD - $95,800 USD
Salary Range 2: $77,100 USD - $115,700 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
