The Northrop Grumman Strike Systems Test Organization Team is seeking a Test Engineering & Operations Manager 2 that will be responsible for all facets of Strike Systems Test engineering & operations, including staffing, planning, execution and reporting in multiple technology areas. This position requires a highly motivated and self-starting individual with relevant test operations experience, who will be willing to work additional assignments beyond the defined requirements of this position. This manager will lead and provide functional management for a team of 10-15 system test engineers in a group of flight test disciplines. The candidate will possess an aviation engineering and flight test background with strong technical and leadership skills. This position requires strong communication skills to support wide-ranging executive-level interaction and reporting to the Test Senior Manager. 

Typical duties include (but are NOT limited to):

  • Manage the daily test activities and personnel support, prioritize tasks and oversee the strategic long-term planning of test engineering & operations

  • Manage the daily tasks of the assigned personnel, including Test Engineers, Systems Test Engineers, Operators and support personnel

  • Manage the Test Engineering & Operations including budgets, personnel and resource scheduling as well as program de-confliction.

  • Liaise with the PAICoE Test Operations Functional Homeroom and the Government Flight Representative (GFR) as required for the statement of work

  • Act as the Systems Integration, Test and Evaluation site lead during the execution of test operations

  • Identify all risks, issues, and pressures and develop mitigation and closure plans.

  • Will require (on occasion) flexibility to work additional flight assignments beyond the defined requirements of this position.

Basic Qualifications: 

  • Requires a minimum of 9 years of engineering experience with a Bachelor’s degree in Science or Engineering (7 years with a Master’s)

  • Must have a minimum of 5 years of relevant test experience with an emphasis on test engineering or operations. 

  • Active DOD Secret clearance, with an investigation date within the past 6 years.

  • Ability to obtain and maintain Program Access Request (PAR).

  • Must have ability to obtain and maintain a Top-Secret clearance.

  • Must be able to travel as needed, and occasionally work overtime, odd shifts, and weekend as required.

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Master of Science degree in science, technology, engineering or math.

  • Experience in a developmental/operational test environment 

  • Experience in a Combined Test Force

Salary Range: $134,600 USD - $201,800 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
