Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for a Staff System Munition Lead for the Advanced Weapons Campaign to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals within our South Bay Aircraft Design Center organization. This role is located in Redondo Beach, California.

Essential Functions:

  • Demonstrate leadership principles – Integrity, respect, organizational, communication etc
  • Proficient in generating and maintaining models in Cameo EA; interface with subject matter experts, analysts, architects, designers, system engineers and specialty engineers to capture weapon structure and behavior
  • Participate in technical planning, verification and validation development, cost and risk considerations, and requirements analyses for integrated systems
  • Prepare and present content in internal and customer reviews, support CDRL deliveries
  • Develop unifying model techniques, procedures, and processes (for model development, tool integration, and team integration)

Basic Qualifications:

  • Basic qualifications for a Staff Principal Engineer Systems include a Bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math) with 14 years of related engineering experience; OR a Master’s degree in STEM with 12 years of related engineering experience; OR a PhD in STEM with 9 years of related engineering experience.
  • Active DoD Secret security clearance with last investigation/adjudicated within the last 6 years
  • Model Based Systems Engineer (MBSE) experience:
  • Minimum 3 years Cameo EA experience (or similar tool)
  • Minimum 3 years of multi-disciplinary team leadership/management

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Company and DoD explosives/munitions handling, transportation, and storage logistics.
  • Familiarity with IADS software and IRIG-106 standards.
  • Experience with MIL-STD-882E and Non-Nuclear Munitions Safety Board (NNMSB).
  • Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Experience in weapons development programs for the Army or Navy
  • Familiarity with environmental specifications for weapon systems (e.g. ATPD-2404, MIL-STD-810) 

Salary Range: $161,000 USD - $241,400 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
