Northrop Grumman Strategic Space Systems is looking for you to join our team as a Dynamics Analyst / Principal Dynamics Analyst with the Vehicle Dynamics & Controls organization based out of Redondo Beach, CA.

The successful candidate will be responsible for performing structural dynamic analysis and test of space-based hardware using industry standard structural analysis software and tools. You will need a strong understanding of the basic principles of statics, flexible body dynamics, finite element method, and mechanics of materials, strength analysis, stress, kinematics, and mass properties.

Responsibilities:

Development of structural dynamics design and analysis using advanced numerical solutions, establishing parameters for dynamics testing, dynamics test monitoring and data processing, correlation of test results to model predictions, and preparation of technical documents and presentations. Demonstrated skill and ability to perform professional tasks, including the ability to collaborate and lead in a team environment, ability to prioritize and adjust tasks to accomplish the project result, ability to prioritize and accomplish multiple task responsibilities simultaneously, and ability to comprehend and analyze complex problems and develop innovative solutions.

This requisition may be filled at either a Dynamics Analyst or Principal Dynamics Analyst level based on the qualifications listed below.

Basic Qualifications:

Dynamics Analyst

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical, Structural, or Aerospace Engineering from an accredited university with 2 years of experience in structural analysis and/or dynamics; OR Master of Science degree in Mechanical, Structural, or Aerospace Engineering from an accredited university

  • Experience with finite element analysis software and data processing tools

  • Experience in structural dynamic analysis and testing of aerospace hardware

  • Active TS and/or SCI security clearance

Principal Dynamics Analyst

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical, Structural, or Aerospace Engineering from an accredited university with 5 years of experience in structural analysis and/or dynamics; OR Master of Science degree in Mechanical, Structural, or Aerospace Engineering from an accredited university with 2 years of experience in structural analysis and/or dynamics; OR Doctorate degree in Engineering from an accredited university with an emphasis in structures and/or dynamics

  • Experience with industry standard loads and dynamics analysis software (NASTRAN, PATRAN, FEMAP, Matlab, ADAMS, VAOne, etc.)

  • Experience in the areas of frequency response analysis, transient response analysis, random response analysis, shock response analysis, deployment analysis, on-orbit/jitter analysis, vibroacoustic analysis, modal survey, model correlation, or vibration isolation and attenuation

  • Strong communication skills and demonstrated ability to work well in a team environment

  • Ability to work with only general direction

  • Active TS and/or SCI security clearance


Salary Range: $85,000 USD - $127,000 USD
Salary Range 2: $104,600 USD - $157,000 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
