Northrop Grumman is seeking a Ground Terminal Product Area Lead to join our team supporting our Metis program.  The position is based at a facility in Aurora, Colorado.

This role is responsible for achieving Process & Quality expectations for the above products & services

Job responsibilities will include, but not be limited to, the following:

  • Overall responsibility & technical oversight of a team of 30-40 that provides Design, Development, Integration, Test, Deployment, Operations and Maintenance of Ground Terminal Products & Services
  • Responsible Products include integrated ground terminals, antennas, digital processing hardware/software, and equipment shelters
  • Responsible Services include maintenance of deployed equipment, support to major operational events, and field services overseeing site construction, installation & checkout
  • Overall responsibility for achieving Process & Quality expectations for the above products & services
  • Product Area POC to Business Development, Program Management & Architects during proposal & baselining activities (cost, schedule, staffing estimates) for both new program work, and NCTA/Capital activities that the Product Area supports
  • Responsible for operating within schedule & cost baseline (labor, materials, travel, ODC, IWOs, Subs) allocated to the Product Area by Program Management
  • Provides Communication/Flow-down, Tasking, Schedule, and Staffing to Product Area Leadership & Ground Terminal Product Teams
  • Monitors Product Team Execution, Leads Product Area Issue Response, and report Product Area metrics & status to Program/Product Area Management
  • Provide technical risk assessment and mitigation plans to Program/Project Managers
  • Assess staffing forecast (current & projected), and work with the Product Area & Functional management to fulfill needs.
  • Work with Program/Functional leadership to establish program goals for Ground Terminal Team Leaders, provide performance evaluations, recommend employee rewards and recognition
  • Provide subordinates with career development recommendations, mentoring, discipline as necessary
  • Build & maintain a culture that empowers employees, establishes personal and team accountability, motivates team performance, encourages development, supports innovation, and is inclusive of all geographic locations on the team
  • Facilitate knowledge sharing and mentoring to build bench depth and eliminate single point failures

Basic Qualifications

  • 9 Years of relevant experience with a Bachelor’s - STEM; 7 Years of relevant experience with a Master’s - STEM; 4 Years of relevant experience with a PhD - STEM. (STEM degree required to be considered**)
  • Must have an Active/Current DoD TS/SCI to be considered**
  • Experience in leadership or management of a large team
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze high-level needs utilizing use cases/scenarios and relate them to the requirements. 
  • Demonstrated experience managing a wide array of senior technical engineers and managers. 
  • Demonstrated experience negotiating with customers to convert customer needs into testable system requirements. 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience in technical judgment with significant impact to program success. 
  • Experience working as part of an Agile development environment as Product Owner or Architect 
  • Well-versed, skilled, and disciplined in system engineering processes. 
  • Experience with Schedule Risk Assessment (SRA), Earned Value Management Systems (EVMS), and Schedule Management

Salary Range: $123,800 USD - $185,800 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
