Northrop Grumman Space Systems – Payload and Ground Systems has an exciting career opportunity for an Engineer/Principal Engineer - Configuration Management/Data Management to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Boulder, CO.

Overview:

The selected Engineer/Principal Engineer - Configuration Management/Data Management will work the Payload and Ground Systems (PGS) SBIRS program.

Essential Functions:

As a Configuration Management/Data Management Engineer, you will be helping to develop and sustain systems using current technologies and others yet to come. We are seeking team members who have a thirst for knowledge, approach each day with optimism, and have a relentless drive to solve complex problems.   • Assign and control program hardware / software data identification control numbers per program & Functional Home Room (FHR) mandates.
  • Establish agendas, publish minutes & track meeting actions.
  • Process change packages through lifecycle include disposition & documentation / hardware implementation.
  • Perform program data release functions via Product Lifecycle Mgmt. tools.
  • Develop and maintain various C&DM reports for program support. Examples: Configured Item Identification List, Engineering Change Request status, C&DM performance metrics
  •  Support internal program C&DM audits against program SOW & Functional Command Media mandates
  • Provide aid to Functional Configuration Audits.
  • Perform Physical Configuration Audits.
  • Manage documentation of deliverable CDRL and non-CDRL items, documentation, data libraries and C&DM file repositories
  • Support program C&DM requirements.
  • Manage deliveries and submissions to government customer.
  • Establish and follow C&DM processes throughout project life cycles to maintain consistent configuration control, developing, operating, and maintaining CM baselines.
  • Assist in planning, coordinating, implementing, and administering program data management systems, data bases, and confirmation management tools to support program C&DM requirements.
  • Assist in building and managing program C&DM systems and tools, libraries, workflows, and processes.
  • Provide inputs into program level metrics to benchmark effectiveness of C&DM performance.
  • Assist the C&DM efforts, working closely with the program, customer representatives, functional organizations, and suppliers to ensure that program C&DM processes are accurately implemented.
  • Assist in the coordination and preparation of project documentation, such as engineering drawings, production specifications and schedules, and contract modifications, to ensure customer contract requirements are met.
  • Create and implement C&DM processes that are accomplished within the bounds of the contract.
  • Utilize integrated tools for accomplishing C&DM Team mission needs.
  • Facilitate Engineering Review Board (ERB) and Configuration Control Board (CCB).  This includes tracking engineering changes through the lifecycle, supporting the boards as a voting member, and creating and distributing agendas and meeting notes, along with announcements to baseline updates.
  • Prepare work products to support CM audits.

This requisition may be filled at a higher grade based on basic qualifications (BQs) listed below.

This requisition may be filled as either an Engineer or Principal Engineer.

Basic Qualifications for an Engineer - Configuration Management/Data Management : 

  • 2 years of relevant experience with a Bachelor's degree; 0 years with a Masters. An additional 4 years of relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Active Secret Clearance
  • Experience with PLM/PDM systems and methods.
  • Experience facilitating CCBs, ERBs, etc.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and time management skills.
  • Ability to interface well with program management/customers.
  • Domain knowledge of Configuration Mgmt. industry standard (EIA-649 and supporting documents
  • Works well in a fast-paced team environment.

Basic Qualifications for a Principal Engineer - Configuration Management/Data Management : 

  • 5 years of relevant experience with a Bachelor's degree; 3 years with a Masters. An additional 4 years of relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Active Secret Clearance
  • Experience with PLM/PDM systems and methods.
  • Experience facilitating CCBs, ERBs, etc.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and time management skills.
  • Ability to interface well with program management/customers.
  • Domain knowledge of Configuration Mgmt. industry standard (EIA-649 and supporting documents
  • Works well in a fast-paced team environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Active/current SCI access
  • SharePoint management experience
  • Agile development experience
  • Familiarity with MBSE environments
  • Atlassian toolset experience
  • Teamcenter Unified Architecture tool experience
  • Experience with AS 9100
  • CM Certifications: (CMPIC, CM2, NDIA)
  • Experience interpreting contractual documentation
  • Experience working DoD contracts
  • Domain knowledge of GEIA-859


Salary Range: $77,100 USD - $115,700 USD
Salary Range 2: $95,000 USD - $142,400 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
