Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for a Staff MBT&E Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals within our Systems Integration, Test and Evaluation organization. This role is located in Melbourne, FL.

The selected candidate will provide thought leadership, creativity, and innovation, along with detailed MBE knowledge, to bring speed and agility to the T&E portion of program execution by greatly expanding the use of MBE.  Responsible for leading all cross-sector and cross-program MBE activities for the T&E organization.  Responsible for ensuring Programs integrate the System Model with government- provided Threat Models and Mission Modeling (Sea and Air) to enable capabilities-based testing as well as specification verification. 

The selected candidate should thrive in a fast-paced work environment with high expectations, significantly diverse assignments, collaborative/team settings across all levels.  Candidate must be able to collaborate closely with system engineers, hardware designers, and integration/test engineers within Northrop Grumman and the Air Force and Navy.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement the strategic plan and roadmap for the Digital Engineering environment that will be used to execute the EMD test campaign for lab, ground, and flight test

• Develop the methodology and approach to validate the Digital Engineering capabilities and demonstrate the cost/schedule benefits that will be gained using this test approach during the next program phase. E.g. Lab Test, Flight Test airworthiness campaigns, etc.

• Develop plans that would “productionize” methodologies post EMD contract award, including costs and schedule.

• Develop the Digital Engineering strategy that will be used to test and validate the Digital Twin.

• Develop the Digital Engineering strategy that will be used to validate software and hardware modifications using the Digital Twin to perform test regression and airworthiness verification testing using these models.

Basic Qualifications:

• Must have a Bachelor’s of Science degree AND 14 years of related professional/military experience in Systems Engineering, System Test and/or Computer Engineering experience, OR a Master’s degree AND 12 years of related professional/military experience in Systems Engineering and/or Test experience, OR a Ph.D. AND 9 years of related professional/military experience in Systems Engineering and/or Test experience.

• Must have an active DoD Secret clearance (or higher)

• Must be able to obtain and maintain Special Program Access (PAR/SAP).

• Must have obtained a Special Program Access (PAR/SAP) in order to start

Preferred Qualifications:

• Active DoD Top Secret clearance (in-scope)

• Current Special Program Access (PAR/SAP)

• Greater than 5 years experience in SIT&E and/or Test and Evaluation

• Greater than 5 years experience applying MBSE principles on a Program or Product Line

• Experience applying human performance principles, methodologies, and technologies to the design or testing of human-machine and human-computer systems and products

• Published or presented papers on MBE/MBSE/T&E

• Active in SEAG and MBE forums

• Excellent communication, interpersonal skills, and the ability to interface with all levels of employees and management

Salary Range: $134,700 USD - $202,100 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
