Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for a Principal Antenna Engineer / Sr. Principal Antenna Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Melbourne, FL.


**This position may be filled by either a Principal Antenna Engineer level or a Sr. Principal Antenna Engineer level based on the qualifications listed.

The Principal Antenna Engineer / Sr. Principal Antenna Engineer reports to the Electronic Warfare system (EWS) Antenna Lead and is responsible for all antenna data processing and analysis of our supplier hardware.
Candidate must demonstrate technical expertise in the field of antennas and RF products as well as knowledge of other related disciplines. The candidate should have effective communication skills and a demonstrated ability to clearly present technical approaches and findings.

Responsibilities will span application of advanced technical principles, theories, and concepts in Antenna technologies. Collaboration with technical leadership on Antenna system requirements generation and associated flow down, Antenna components and subsystem design/analysis, and Antenna system performance verification including range testing.

Essential Functions:
• Ability to perform Antenna Analysis, data processing and/or Measurement work (using MATLAB)
• Experience with antenna design and modeling (i.e. HFSS)
• Demonstrate knowledge in more than one area in electromagnetic theory, electromagnetic analysis, and performance budgeting/allocation in RF systems or subsystems
• Incorporation of lessons learned and experiences in design/analysis, innovative thinking, and familiarity with the state-of-the-art

Basic Qualifications:

For - Principal Antenna Engineer (T03):
• Bachelor of Science degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math) plus 5 years of relevant experience; or a Master's degree with 3 years of experience

• Must have an Active, In-Scope, DOD Secret Security Clearance or higher that has been granted / renewed within the past 6 years.
• Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Program Access. 


Basic Qualifications:

For - Sr. Principal Antenna Engineer (T04):

• Bachelor of Science degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math) plus 9 years of relevant experience; or a Master's degree with 7 years of experience

• Must have an Active, In-Scope, DOD Secret Security Clearance or higher that has been granted / renewed within the past 6 years.
• Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Program Access. 

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with RF testing
• Experience with software, such as MATLAB
• Familiarity with RF and antenna theory
• Demonstrated expertise using CST Microwave Studio, HFSS, GRASP, FEKO, or other computational electromagnetics software tools
• RF test experience and/or antenna test/range experience
• Software development experience with antenna/RF analysis and/ test measurement systems
• CAD modeling, statistics, systems engineering, and measurement data post-processing/reduction.


Salary Range: $90,400 USD - $135,600 USD
Salary Range 2: $112,000 USD - $168,000 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
