Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for an Engineering Manager 1 (S01) position to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Melbourne, Florida. The selected candidate will lead the Diminishing Manufacturing Sources and Material Shortages (DMSMS) team of 5-10 obsolescence management engineers and analysts. This role includes the management of people, processes, assets, and budget related to the execution of a proactive obsolescence management program. The selected candidate will demonstrate exemplary professionalism and ability to maintain composure in stressful situations. Will build or maintain diverse/inclusive teams with engaged team members. Will have knowledge and understanding of standard NGAS DMSMS engineering processes. Will have time management and organizational skills to prioritize across concurrent program and functional responsibilities.

Essential Functions include:

  • Employee engagement.
  • Employee performance reviews.
  • Performance monitoring and development of performance metrics.
  • Establish customer relationships.
  • Drive process effectiveness and improvements.
  • Direct budget planning with assigned cost account manager.
  • Additional responsibilities will include development of proficiency in proactive obsolescence management.
  • Establish methodology for DMSMS configuration management via the obsolescence management database.
  • Management of obsolescence forecasting and technology roadmap integration.
  • Participation in the Logistics and Modernization technical leadership teams.
  • Coordinate and maintain working relationships across technical disciplines.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university / college in a STEM discipline with 3 years leadership experience
  • Must-have documented experience in managing people and projects.
  • Must-have strong communication skills, including experience presenting and interfacing with customers and program leadership.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • MS degree in STEM discipline
  • 5+ total years of experience
  • 4+ years Product Support experience
  • 2+ years DMSMS experience
  • Strong working knowledge of proactive obsolescence management processes
  • Proficient with standard Office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Active Secret/Top Secret clearance

Salary Range: $96,700 USD - $145,100 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
