Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for an MBSE Product Owner to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Melbourne, Florida.

The Warp9 team is seeking a Product Owner to define the vision for Warp9 team and become the liaison between Systems Engineers and Software Engineers. You will be joining an exciting and new initiative to drive digital engineering for a major corporate pursuit. As a liaison, you will be responsible for bridging the gap between the software development team and the systems engineering team, ensuring that software development meets the needs of the systems engineering team. You will also work closely with other teams within the organization to ensure project milestones are met. 
 
Essential Functions: 

  • Serve as the primary point of contact between the software development team and the systems engineering team. 

  • Collaborate with the systems engineering team to understand their needs and ensure that software development aligns with their requirements. 

  • Facilitate communication and collaboration between the software development team and the systems engineering team, ensuring that all stakeholders are informed and aligned. 

  • Provide technical guidance in System Engineering concepts, including Cameo to the software development team, helping them to understand and meet the needs of the systems engineering team. 

  • Work with other teams within the organization to ensure project milestones are met, and that software development is delivered on time. 

  • Manage and prioritize software development tasks, ensuring that they align with the needs of the systems engineering team and ensure that model methodology is aligned across programs 

  • Conduct regular status meetings and provide progress reports to management and other stakeholders. 

  • Ensure that each Warp 9 product supports Warp 9’s MBSE vision by understanding use cases, gathering feature requirements, refining them as necessary, and aiding leads during customer discussions.  

  • Manage all interfaces between Warp 9 tools and External Tools  

  • Create detailed documentation that define what expected of our customers and what they should get in return from using our tool. Update them each time a new interface/agreement has been made. Much of the documentation may already be outdated which created risk for our business.  

 

Basic Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor's degree in a STEM Discipline (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) from an accredited university/college and 9 years of related engineering experience or a Master’s degree and 7 years of related engineering experience 

  • SysML/UPDM experience creating diagrams across Systems Engineering V lifecycle (Use Case, Systems Decomposition, Functional Decomposition)  

  • Cameo/SysML profiling experience (e.g. stereotypes, custom profiles, custom tables, etc 

  • Basic software knowledge: RESTFul APIs, Object Oriented Programming principles, relational and non-relational database systems, etc. 

  • Demonstrated ability to analyze high level needs utilizing use cases/scenarios and relate them to the requirements. 

  • Demonstrated experience managing wide array of senior technical engineers and managers. 

  • Demonstrated experience negotiating with customers to convert customer needs into testable system requirements. 

  • Expertise in MBSE (Model Based Systems Engineering) tools, frameworks, languages and concepts. SysML experience preferred. 

  • Experience with tools such as MS Project, Atlassian Suite, Cameo, Jazz QM 

  • Contingent on ability to gain DoD Top Secret clearance and Special Access Program (SAP)

 

Preferred Qualification: 

  • Demonstrated experience in technical judgment with significant impact to program success. 

  • Experience working as part of an Agile development environment as Product Owner or Architect 

  • Well-versed, skilled and disciplined in system engineering processes. 

  • Experience with Schedule Risk Assessment (SRA), Earned Value Management Systems (EVMS) and Schedule Management  

 


Salary Range: $112,000 USD - $168,000 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
