Lead a team of over 30 Engineers in the technical and program execution of systems analysis and simulation tasks/projects in support of the Strategic Development effort.

Direct modeling, simulation, and operational analysis to support strategic development and recommend solutions and technology investments for program and customer leadership.
Direct new and/or integrate existing system simulation frameworks, performance models and algorithms, threat models and command and control models.

Apply knowledge of Tactics, Techniques and Procedures (TTPs) to support blue/red kill chains across multiple security environments, programs, architectures, and platforms.
Perform mission engineering activities to ensure performance capabilities of new systems and architectures are traded against cost and mission requirements; develop operationally relevant mission scenarios; assess operational effectiveness of existing and emerging systems and capabilities in representative operational environments.

Solicit input from various stakeholders, synthesize data, and communicate results to various levels of leadership within the organization.

Additionally, the Mission Engineering Manager is responsible for planning and execution of budgets and work packages to meet technical, cost and schedule program requirements and is responsible for EVMS, schedule and risk reporting and tracking.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) related discipline and 9 years of related experience, Master's Degree in a STEM field and 7 years of experience
  • Experience in at least one of the following areas: Modeling and Simulation of Radars, Missiles, Integrated Air Defense Systems (IADS), Air and/or Space platforms
  • Experience leading study efforts in support of Operational Analysis, Mission Analysis, Supportability Analysis, or Systems Analysis objectives.
  • Experience in Research, Analysis, and Creating Assessments of Foreign Threats to US Military Operations, Low Observables (LO), Infrared (IR)/Electro-Optical (EO)/Acoustic Modeling/Analysis, Electronic Warfare, Countermeasures, Red and/or Blue CONOPs and TTPs
  • Must have an active DoD Top Secret (or higher) clearance (with a background investigation within the past 6 years or enrolled into Continuous Evaluation)
  • Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) clearance. 
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain an SCI


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Current access to Strike programs
  • Military airpower experience (aircrew operations, ground station operations, battle management, electronic warfare and/or cyber operations)
  • Experience with system of systems modeling tools: AFSIM, Suppressor, or Brawler.
  • Experience with developmental test and/or operational test
  • Familiarity with AGILE, MBSE, and/or system architecture.
  • Effective project management skills and good communication.
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
  • Excellent communications skills, including the ability to present and brief technical data to all levels of leadership within the organization and U.S. Government.
  • Knowledge of airpower strategy, missions, scenarios, threats, capabilities, Concepts of Operation (CONOPS) and integration.
  • Experience working in two or more current SAP/SAR programs
  • Experience in Cost Account Management
  • Experience in development and hosting of cloud-based applications

Salary Range: $152,100 USD - $228,100 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
