Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems is seeking a Systems Engineer/Principal Systems Engineer located in Melbourne, FL to support the Systems Integration Engineering E2D Flight Line.

Systems Integration engineering provides MFG support for integration of the vehicle avionics systems, and the WRA systems for both E2D. Tasks are as follows: provide engineering support during installation/test of the various systems, support pre and post flight briefings, address all flight discrepancies. Additional tasks are providing redlines to the test specifications, evaluating non-safety of flight open work during flight operations, and providing abbreviated retest instructions. A strong background in general avionics, as well as a solid grasp of the electromechanical systems of aircraft is a must for flight line systems engineer. Much of the systems engineering support provided to MFG for troubleshooting various system discrepancies. It is important to read and understand wiring diagrams for the various aircraft systems. Additionally, having a basic understanding of RF characteristics is imperative for this position. Test equipment, such as multi-meters, network analyzers, and signal generators are utilized in the day to day working of the aircraft.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Basic Qualifications for a Systems Engineer is a bachelor’s degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline and 2 years of related engineering experience OR a Masters' Degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline.

  • Basic Qualifications for Principal Systems Engineer is a bachelor’s degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline and 5 years of related engineering experience with OR 3 years of related engineering experience with Masters' Degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline OR a PhD in STEM.

  • Must have an active DoD Secret Clearance

Salary Range: $73,400 USD - $110,000 USD
Salary Range 2: $90,400 USD - $135,600 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
