The Electrical Devices and Integrated Circuit group at Northrop Grumman Corporation delivers full-custom ICs to provide the core functionality of our Advanced Multifunction Sensor products. These ICs are mixed signal devices with content that spans RF, Analog, and Digital signal domains.  In support of this IC development activity, we are seeking a Lead Designer for custom Read-Out Integrated Circuits (ROICs).

What You Will Do:

  • You will be responsible for working with imaging systems engineers to develop requirements and leading a team of ROIC designers from requirements to tapeout
  • Additional responsibilities include block level definition, requirements flow down, compliance to design review requirements, interface definition, detailed circuit design, chip-level integration, definition of verification requirements and verification signoff, and layout verification. 

Basic Qualifications:

  • 9 Years with Bachelors in Science; 7 Years with Masters; 4 Years with PhD.
  • Be capable of simultaneously supporting multiple unique designs in a dynamic environment, be a self-starter with strong communication skills.
  • Ability to independently develop ROIC specs and to sub allocate requirements to block level designers.
  • Extensive experience with the Cadence Virtuoso suite of IC design tools, including schematic entry, simulation, layout, and physical verification.
  • Working knowledge of mixed signal verification using behavioral modeling.
  • Capability to obtain a security clearance

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree or higher in Electrical Engineering
  • More than 13 years relevant experience.
  • Design-for-test techniques.
  • Knowledge of radiation environments and design techniques to mitigate radiation effects
  • Current security clearance

This position reports to Baltimore, MD, USA, however, you are able to work from any of the additional 9 locations listed above.

Salary Range: $120,000 USD - $180,000 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
