Description

Northrop Grumman Corporate Office (CO), Mission Systems CIO PMO, is seeking a Chief Architect. This position will define & execute the technology strategy for the Mission Systems Chief Information Office. The successful candidate will define the enterprise digital roadmap, strategy and architecture to enable execution of program and customer requirements in defining their product and digital thread/twin responsibilities. The candidate will also translate concepts, develop transformational strategies, implement change, and create & drive responsiveness to business requirements. A critical element of the role will be to synchronize enterprise and sector digital product strategies and design. This position will report to the Director, Engineering & Manufacturing Systems and Infrastructure (EMSI).

This position may be located in one of our three Northrop Grumman primary sites for this organization: Linthicum, Maryland, Rolling Meadows, Illinois or San Diego, California.


Position Summary

• Lead the creation of architectures, roadmaps and solutions in support of information technology pillars spanning Product Lifecycle Management (PLM), Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES), Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), and mission connectivity. This is aligned with business functional organizations and focused on enabling outcomes of the business – cost reduction, efficiencies, speed to market, reuse & application tool simplification across the product domains.
• Drive strategy and execution toward a common set of tools across all sectors centered on an enterprise strategy that is the single source of truth across the enterprise for product definition, attributes, data structure, and data content.
• Drive the prioritization, budgeting, and resource planning of IT work to support EMSI business objectives and key initiatives for sectors and programs.
• Drive global deployment and adoption of information technology solutions across Northrop Grumman. Maximize the alignment of the Chief Information Office with Sector operating models, strategies, and investments.
• Collaborate and coordinate with sector, industry and supplier councils in developing methodologies and standards in achieving product definition and development innovation. The roadmaps and strategy will ultimately integrate and synchronize corporate and sector digital product strategies and design.
• Be responsible for improving IT operational excellence and controlling costs for the Product Line services and functions globally. Monitor customer satisfaction levels with service delivery and engage resources to assist as required to meet and exceed service level objectives.
• Demonstrate the highest levels of leadership integrity, openness, compliance and honesty in all business interactions


Additional Responsibilities/Duties include:


• Establishing the vision for integration across pillar technology systems (PLM, ERP, MES) and leading the technological development.
• Directs EMSI technologies strategic roadmap, development and future growth.
• Participate in management decisions about corporate governance.
• Oversees current technology and governance to create relevant policy.
• Maintain current information about technology standards and compliance regulations.
• Identify technology opportunities and risks for the business.
• Monitor technology and social trends that could impact the company.
• Provide leadership to EMSI departments in a fashion that supports the company’s culture, mission and values.
• Works in a consultative fashion with other department heads, such as advanced development, production and operations as an advisor of technologies to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
• Conducts research and case studies on leading edge technologies, alignment and assessment on implementation probability.
• Supports business acquisition Proposal assessing Digital Product Lifecycle execution and risk
• Communicate the company's technology strategy to partners, management, industry and employees.

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor of Science degree, or related technical discipline, and 14 years of applicable experience.  12 years of relevant experience with a Masters degree; 9 years with a PhD.

• Experience developing and deploying architectures to support product lifecycle management (PLM), computer aided design (CAD), computer aided manufacturing (CAM), computer based engineering (CAE), manufacturing execution systems (MES) and model based engineering (MBE).
• Proven Ability to provide strategic direction regarding our Information Technology products, processes, applications, and technology.
• Demonstrated experience managing projects, budgets and schedules.
• Experience with developing proposals and project statements of work for external bid and competitive differentiation.
• Demonstrated ability to independently prioritize, plan, and execute work tasks in a rapidly changing, fast-paced environment while maintaining high quality results.
• Demonstrated ability to pro-actively identify issues and solutions to those issues, and drive issues rapidly to closure.
• Prior experience with identifying systemic technical and service delivery challenges affecting the service delivery; engage constructively to identify solutions.
• US Citizenship is required, as well as an active DOD Secret clearance with the ability to obtain Top Secret Clearance or SAP/SAR program clearance. 

Preferred Qualifications

• 15+ years of product development, in product design, engineering, manufacturing engineering, production quality, procurement and support.

This position reports to Linthicum, MD, USA, however, you are able to work from any of the additional 2 locations listed above.


Salary Range: $189,400 USD - $284,200 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
