We are seeking a cleared or clearable Engineering Operations Manager to focus on the day-to-day operations of a 400-person engineering team.  The Engineering Operations Manager works with site leadership to ensure we are successfully executing for today and strategically planning for tomorrow. The opportunity provides for personal growth and learning opportunities by working closely with leadership across multiple sites as the face of the engineering senior management team.

The Cincinnati location is part of Northrop Grumman’s Mission Systems sector and works with various government organizations designing and building custom hardware and software solutions. We are mission focused pushing the boundaries of possible across land, sea, air, space, and cyberspace. We maintain a vibrant small business culture while collaborating within the larger organization utilizing a large extent of resources and expertise. You get to know your teammates and work with them closely while also collaborating with Engineering Operations Managers at other locations.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Develop, plan, and conduct site wide engineering initiatives and strategies

  • Track site staffing plan, progress, and needs

  • Run Agile for Business processes

  • Develop and deliver material for department meetings

  • Analyze engineering staffing forecast vs demand

  • Study and review labor charging trends

  • Identify, plan, and track capital purchases

  • Develop and manage site wide engagement initiatives

Basic Qualifications:

  • Degree in Engineering with 5 years of engineering experience

  • This position requires strong expertise in the following:

    • Communications Skills (both verbal and written)

    • Data Analytics

    • Project Management

    • Ability to Multitask

    • Microsoft Office – especially Excel

  • Ability to track group tasking and drive to closure

  • US Citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a Top-Secret Clearance is required

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Active Top Secret Clearance

  • Confluence/JIRA – Agile Processes

  • Engineering Management Experience

  • Experience with a Workload Forecasting Tool

This position offers benefits including medical, dental, vision, 401k matching, 9/80 schedule, flexible work arrangement, and learning opportunities.

  • The 9/80 Schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off. Other schedules (e.g. 4/10 schedule) may be considered.

  • This is an on-site position however there may be opportunities for occasional remote work

Salary Range: $134,500 USD - $201,000 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
