Job Description:

Conducts technical analysis of product implementations, modifications, and enhancements to product in accordance with specific customer specifications and implementations. Troubleshoots technical problems and issues, determines technical solution in accordance with product and customer specifications, and recommends actions to company or customer representatives for coordinative product solution. Assesses product needs in accordance with customer specifications. Conducts technical training and product briefing with customers, vendors, and company representatives. Acts as local on-site representative to customers organization.

Works under direct supervision. Impact Contributes to the completion of milestones associated with specific projects. Failure to achieve results or inadequate work product should be detected by supervisory oversight but may cause delay in program schedules and allocation of additional resources Liaison Primarily internal company contacts. Infrequent inter-organizational and outside customer contacts on routine matters.

This position is located in Fort Bliss / El Paso, TX.

This position will be located on a U.S. Army base with the selected employee being embedded into a U.S. Army Air Defense Battalion as a civilian technician.

Basic Qualifications Associate Field Engineer:

  • High school diploma and 3 years of applicable experience. 0 years relevant experience with a bachelor’s degree.

  • General familiarity of Microsoft Office

  • General proficiency in the use of handheld diagnostic tools. (DMM, Clamp Amp Meter, Fiber Optic Power Meter, Cable Verifier)

  • Working familiarization of mobile power generation (Single, Split, and 3-Phase AC drops)

  • US Citizenship Required

  • Be able to obtain / maintain current Secret Clearance

  • Ability to conduct 2 man-lift by DoD Standards

  • Required to obtain / maintain a Commercial Driver’s License (Class-A) and CompTIA A+ within 6 months of hire date.

  • Candidate may be required to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) while performing job duties such as US Military Protective Mask, Ballistic Helmet, Body Armor, and Chemical/Biological garments and perform assigned tasks and duties while wearing said PPE.

  • Candidate is able to lift, carry, move, and use tool kits and equipment items up to 31 lbs. in accordance with military standards for one-person tasks.

  • Candidate may be required to perform tasks and duties in an austere environment with varying and potentially extreme environmental conditions.

  • Candidate must meet and maintain Department of Defense contractor deployment requirements in accordance with DODI 3020.41 Operational Contract Support

  • This position may require extended travel to multiple CONUS/OCONUS locations.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • HVAC Certification

  • Fiber Optical Cable Spicing / Termination Certification

  • Generator Technician

  • Knowledge of military operations, procedures, and training activities

  • Knowledge of Army ADA systems and operations

  • Military veteran with service as an Air Defense Artillery (ADA) Non-Commissioned, Warrant or Commissioned Officer


Salary Range: $50,100 USD - $75,100 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
