Principal/Sr. Principal Systems Engineer

We are currently seeking a new teammate to join our Systems Engineering team. The positions are Principal/Sr. Principal Systems Engineer for Production Development to work with our talented Aerospace Structures team in Clearfield, UT.

Our ideal candidate will be experienced Systems Engineers with an understanding of composite structure manufacturing and assembly. They are at ease collaborating with team members across the Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) and Program Management. They have strong communication skills, respectful ambition, and a desire to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

In this role, the selected candidates will be expected (but not limited) to:

• Support one or more of our Programs analyzing, developing, and managing the system and subsystems System Engineering work products: requirements, operational usage concepts, verification matrices and technical volumes
• Engage with IPT and Mission Assurance teammates eliciting and maturing development and operational lifecycle requirements as well as the accompanying verification and validation criteria
• Decompose requirements received from the customer(s)
• Construct and maintain system architecture models
• Identify and track risks to technical execution
• Define/Document program Systems Engineering activities in Systems Engineering Management Plan
• Coordinate and assemble Technical Volumes
• Coordinate and perform trade studies then document technical recommendations
• Construct and/or coordinate reviews of customer and supplier Statements of Work (SOWs)
• Develop Engineering Change Proposals
• Develop Integrated Master Plans (IMPs)/Integrated Master Schedules (IMSs)
• Coordinate Program Technical Milestone Reviews
• Develop and maintain configuration control for Interface Control Documents (ICDs), Interface Change Notices (ICNs), technical manuals, technical specifications, and system/subsystem documentation for the customer/end user
• Technical Leadership directing, coordinating, and reviewing Systems Engineering activities at the subsystem level

This position can be filled as a Principal Systems Engineer (T03) or Sr. Principal Systems Engineer (T04) level. 

Basic qualifications for each level are listed below.

Basic qualifications for a Principal Systems Engineer level (T03) are: 

• Bachelor of Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM) and a minimum of five (5) years of experience supporting a product from development into production lifecycles
• Experience eliciting, decomposing and documenting system requirements
• Ability to obtain and maintain DoD secret security clearance and special program access within a reasonable time to perform job functions
• Must have proven experience in communicating with all levels of peers, management, and customers in a methodical, detailed and process-oriented fashion
• Must have demonstrated experience in solving technical problems independently with minimal supervision

Basic qualifications for a Sr. Principal Systems Engineer level (T04) are: 

• Bachelor of Science in STEM degree and a minimum of nine (9) years of experience supporting a product from development into production lifecycles. Note: An additional 4 years of relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of a degree. 
• Experience soliciting, decomposing and documenting system requirements
• Ability to obtain and maintain DoD secret security clearance and special program access within a reasonable time to perform job functions
• Experience in requirements elicitation, decomposition and documentation
• Must have proven experience in communicating with all levels of peers, management, and customers in a methodical, detailed and process-oriented fashion
• Must have demonstrated experience in solving technical problems independently with minimal supervision

Preferred Qualifications

• Advanced Degree preferably STEM or Master of Business Administration
• Current active DoD secret clearance
• Experience with systems engineering tools such as IBM Rationale, DOORS, Cameo, and Rhapsody
• Experience coordinating and documenting Verification Cross Reference Matrix
• Experience coordinating and conducting program milestone reviews
• Experience building and maintaining Models/Model Based Systems Engineering
• Understanding of composite materials including their mechanical and electrical properties
• Experience leading teams of highly talented and passionate engineers
• Interest in advancing into a managerial position

Salary Range: $90,400 USD - $135,600 USD

Salary Range 2: $112,000 USD - $168,000 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
