Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems (NGAS) has an opening for a NC Programmer Levels 2 or 3 to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals supporting Clearfield, UT. We are a world-class manufacturer of composite structures, radomes, and antenna systems for military applications.  We design and manufacturer solutions for our war fighters to keep our country safe and maintain peace on a global scale.

The NC Programmer Levels 2 or 3 will be a part of the Software Engineering Department and will be responsible for programming 5 Axis CNC machines.

The ideal candidate for this role will be a detailed oriented self-starter with the ability to work independently in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with minimal supervision, He / She will have strong interpersonal communication skills and be able to interface with all levels within the organization, have excellent problem-solving abilities, have excellent organizational skills and be able to multi-task competing priorities, and able to deal with stress and conflict.  .     If you are looking for an opportunity to grow with a leader in the Aerospace Industry, this is the perfect opportunity for you!

*This position will work a 1st shift, 9/80 schedule with every other Friday off and requires onsite presence due to the nature of the role. 

**This position may be filled by a NC Programmer Level 2 or 3:

Essential Functions / Responsibilities:

  • Designs, develops, documents, tests, and debugs applications software and systems that contains logical mathematical solutions.
  • Conducts multidisciplinary research and collaborated with equipment designers and/or hardware engineers in the planning, design, development, and utilization of electronic data processing systems for product and commercial software.
  • Determines computer user needs; analyzes system capabilities to resolve problems on program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques, and controls.
  • Prepares operating instructions, designs and develops compilers and assemblers, utility programs, and operating systems.
  • Ensures software standards are met.

Basic Qualifications NC Programmer Level 2:

  • Bachelor of Science with 2 years of relevant experience, Masters’ degree with 0 years of experience OR may consider 4 years of additional relevant experience in lieu of a degree.
  • Experience with NX CAM 5-Axis Milling.
  • Experience with Fanuc 31i.
  • Experience preparing solid model or complex geometry.
  • Be able to read blueprints.
  • Knowledgeable of troubleshooting manufacturing processes.
  • Ability to work within MS applications i.e., MS Word, (report writing) Excel (with the ability to create, edit, log and track data in spreadsheets)
  • Ability to obtain Special Program Access within a reasonable timeframe as required by the business.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Security Clearance within a reasonable timeframe as required by the business.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Active DoD Secret Security Clearance
  • Siemens 840D experience
  • CNC machining experience
  • Experience with NX and Siemens Fiber SIM
  • Aerospace or manufacturing experience
  • Familiarity with composites
  • Project Management
  • Experience Investigating and resolving manufacturing machine problems and instigating corrective actions and follow-up on equipment (CNC mills/lathes).

Salary Range: $73,400 USD - $110,000 USD
Salary Range 2: $90,400 USD - $135,600 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
