Northrop Grumman's Space Systems organization is seeking a Staff Engineer Software to join the Command and Launch Team as a Physical Security Systems Software Engineer.  This position will be located in Roy, UT.  This position may require occasional travel to Northrop Grumman and Government locations within the United States.   

The selected candidate will design, develop, test, integrate, document, and deliver software in support of the Sentinel Physical Security team. The candidate will have a leadership role in the team as an engineer, coach, and mentor to less experienced team members. This is a hands-on technical position--a deep understanding of software engineering is required.

Key responsibilities:
• Apply technical expertise in solving complex integration challenges
• Mentor fellow software engineers and support their technical efforts
• Participate in software peer reviews
• Participate in the full life cycle of software development
• Utilization of strong software engineering skills
• Keep abreast of relevant tools and technologies
• Foster relationships with collaborating teams within the Sentinel program
• Interface frequently with government customers, program management and technical staff

Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree from an accredited university, and 14+ years of experience OR a Master's Degree with 12+ years of experience OR 9 years of experience with a PhD
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance with Special Access Program (SAP) access
• Working knowledge of Object-Oriented Analysis and Design principles
• At least 3 years’ experience with web technologies such as Node.js, JavaScript, and TypeScript
• Experience with full stack software development

Preferred Qualifications • Deep experience with modern web technologies, virtual machines, containerized applications, Kubernetes, and client frameworks
• 4-5 years’ experience with technologies such as Node.js, JavaScript, and TypeScript
• Master’s degree in software engineering or similar
• Active DoD Secret clearance (in-scope)
• Current Special Program Access (SAP)


Salary Range: $139,000 USD - $208,600 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
