Northrop Grumman Space Systems has an opening for an Associate Mechanical Engineer to join the Integration and Test Harness team. This position will be located in Dulles, VA.

The selected candidate will perform a variety of operations and procedures related to the manufacturing of cable/harness products.

The ideal candidate is expected to:

  • Working with team engineer and technicians to create production plans. 
  • Leads efforts to provide engineering review and documents intended processes to maintain schedule for one or more customer programs. 
  • Create plans for non-conformance review and root cause determination. 
  • Designs manufacturing processes, procedures and production layouts for assemblies, and harness installation processing.
  • Develops manufacturing processes that are applicable to statistical process control and may develop those techniques.
  • Provides guidance to technicians regarding design concerns and specification requirements to best utilize equipment and manufacturing techniques.
  • Ensures processes and procedures are in compliance with regulations.

Basic Qualification:

  • A Bachelors degree in a STEM discipline and minimum of 1 year of related experience.
  • Eligible to obtain a U.S. Government Top Secret security clearance (U.S. Citizenship is a pre-requisite)
  • Wire harness assembly and design and schematics knowledge
  • Proficient in Microsoft Suite Software
  • Excellent communication skills

Preferred Qualification:

  • Aerospace experience.
  • Aptitude for understanding system and subsystem interactions
  • Experience with Costpoint, SAP, MES, Solumina, TIPQA, Windchill
  • Experience working in an ISO or AS9100 environment

Salary Range: $72,000 USD - $88,000 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
