The Space Systems Sector is seeking an experienced Staff Systems Engineer/Requirements Engineer to join our team in Fairfax, VA.

The ideal candidate must have the ability to understand, define, and develop system specifications, interfaces, processing platforms, and virtualized compute infrastructure requirements. The candidate will also be responsible for systems architecture by defining, adapting and deploying software applications and mission data management across virtualized and distributed infrastructure.

Candidates shall utilize sound engineering practices to perform technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk analysis. Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints. Perform functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, interface definitions and other studies.
 

What you’ll get to do?

As a Systems Engineer on this team, you will support a team of engineers to define, develop, decompose, analyze, verify, and validate requirements for a Ground Segment. In this role, you will be supporting program leadership and the customer to define and maintain the technical baseline. Ultimately, you will support the program through maturity and milestones to achieve the mission, ensuring everything is synchronized.  

We have a number of Systems Engineering positions across several new programs, on contract to deliver ground segments for restricted space programs. This work will span command and control, mission planning and scheduling, mission processing, and system infrastructure. We have anticipated future growth to deliver additional ground capabilities.

Basic Qualifications for Staff Systems Engineer:

• 14 years of relevant experience with a Bachelor of Science degree in a STEM discipline; 12 years of relevant experience with a Masters' degree; 9 years of relevant experience with a PhD

• Define system functions and trace to requirements.

• Perform requirements development and management of the system specification and its sub-systems

• Working knowledge of systems engineering principles and processes

• Demonstrated experience quickly learning new concepts and approaches

• Active Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility and willing to submit to a polygraph

Preferred Qualifications:

• Active TS/SCI clearance with polygraph

• Experience with Ground Systems (space or satellite knowledge highly preferred)

• Experience with Agile development

• Effectively communicate and present to project and program management, other technical managers and customers

• Familiarity with Model-Based Systems Engineering languages (SysML/UML) and concepts

• Experience with scalable cloud-based software architectures

• Excellent technical writing and team building skills

Salary Range: $161,000 USD - $241,400 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
