Develops, administers and implements environmental programs in accordance with governmental requirements. Monitors pollution prevention activities, compliance and auditing efforts. Conducts studies and prepares environmental reports for new projects, plant processes and permit changes. Reviews and analyzes environmental documentation issued by the federal EPA, state and local regulatory agencies. Evaluates proposed regulations to determine financial, industrial, public and environmental impact. Interacts with federal, state and local regulators to resolve compliance issues; establishes permit requirements and assists in EPA, state and local regulatory audits. Knowledge of current trends in sustainability and environmental issues, particularly around recycle/reuse and renewable energy. Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing, and build consensus with individuals of diverse backgrounds, with varied organizational needs and differing priorities.
Qualifications:
• 2-4 years’ experience in environmental engineering.
•Must be able to oversee and work with subcontractors (e.g., contractors, construction workers, surveyors, etc.) while performing field work.
Experience with wastewater treatment operation, sampling, monitoring, and reporting;
•Prefer RCRA 40-hour Hazwoper trained per OSHA standard 29 CFR Part 1910.120.
•Experience with sustainability metrics and execution of sustainability programs. Experience with the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA) (Hazardous Waste) compliance, and reporting.
Education/Certifications•
BS or MS in environmental engineering, geology, chemistry or a related field.
