SSSD has an opening for a Property and Asset Control Support 2 to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Redondo Beach, California.

In this role, the successful candidate will be part of an organization focused on adding new equipment details to a relational database, transporting, acquiring and managing property, parts, materials, and assets for NGSSSD engineering development and test activities.  More specifically, the successful candidate will work with a group of highly motivated individuals responsible for data entry and logistical movement of M&TE to & from programs, vendors and OEM suppliers. The role is focused on process discipline, schedule, compliance to Northrop Grumman Command Media and Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS).  Process improvement as well as delivering superior customer service in support of our customer base is an ongoing focus. This involves material handling of general-purpose Measuring and Test Equipment (M&TE) that typically weigh 25 - 35 lbs. and may weigh up to 50 lbs. and occasionally driving vehicles up to 25,000 lbs. GVWR in order to pick up and deliver materials and equipment.

The successful candidate must have proficient computer data entry, customer contact and driving skills. Qualified applicants must be at least 21 years of age; have a valid California driver’s license; experience driving a 16-foot box truck or similar/larger vehicles and a good driving record.

The occasional driving portion of this position is a Southern California driving position, and the successful candidate will return to the point of origin at the end of each shift.  Reporting equipment and vehicle damages or discrepancies and completing daily Driver’s Vehicle Inspection Reports are basic requirements of this position.

The selected candidate will have excellent computer skills, proven customer service skills and attention to detail, working in the Engineering Asset Management (EAM) Department’s Space Park facility.

Essential Functions:

  • Inspecting equipment for damage before accepting or delivering equipment

  • Receiving equipment and verifying proper paperwork for transportation

  • Utilizing a wireless barcode scanner to properly track equipment movement.

  • Entering equipment related data into a relational database.

  • Verifying transportation paperwork (Work Orders & Shippers) to identify destination location.

  • Safely loading equipment onto carts and carts onto Box Truck or cargo van and properly securing the equipment and load for safe transport

  • Maintain relationships with NG internal customers, Original Equipment Manufacturers and Vendors for repair and periodic calibration of General-Purpose Test Equipment

  • Coordinate and follow up with production, warehouse, and engineering personnel to ensure appropriate scheduling, and movement of materials.

  • Occasionally driving a 20-foot box truck or cargo van, navigating safely into loading docks or other areas as needed to pick up or deliver equipment.

  • Daily inspection of vehicles to ensure safe operating condition and documenting the condition of the vehicles.

  • Willingness to change physical work locations based on operational need.

This position’s standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.

Basic Qualifications

  • H/S Diploma or equivalent with a minimum of two (2) years relevant experience

  • Proficiency with computer and automated systems (Outlook, Excel, PPT, Access, MRP)

  • Inventory, Material Management, Logistical or Warehousing experience

  • Ability to frequently lift, move, and position/reposition objects weighing up to ~45lbs.

  • Minimum of 1 year experience in a role that involved driving 2,5000 Lbs. GVWR Box trucks or larger sized vehicles.

  • Driving record: Valid C Class California State Driver’s License; NO DUI’s, cell phone tickets or reckless driving in past 3 years

  • At least 21 years of age

Preferred Qualifications

  • Aerospace and Defense industry experience

  • HazMat handling/storage/movement certification/experience

This position reports to Redondo Beach, CA, USA, however, this position can also be worked from Manhattan Beach, CA, CA, USA.


Salary Range: $39,900 USD - $66,500 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
