Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking a Facilities Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse professionals. In this role, you will lead and manage facility projects that support infrastructure sustainability and new program requirements. This position will be located in Redondo Beach, CA.
Responsibilities:
- Gather and review facility and equipment requirements, ensuring feasibility and compliance with company or government regulations.
- Plan, design, and oversee reconfiguration, maintenance, and upgrades of equipment, buildings, and infrastructure.
- Coordinate with architecture/engineering firms to develop design criteria and layouts.
- Prepare Scopes of Work and procurement documents for design and construction services.
- Estimate and manage project costs, including design, equipment, labor, and materials.
- Oversee construction and installation progress to ensure adherence to specifications and schedules.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously, forecasting risks and reporting key project metrics.
- Develop and implement risk mitigation and schedule recovery plans as needed.

Flexible Schedules: For example, some roles offer the ability to work a 9/80 work schedule, which allows an employee to work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday and take every other Friday off of work.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in STEM with 2 years of experience in project management, construction management, or facilities-related fields OR a Master’s Degree in STEM with no experience.
- Experience managing design and construction contracts, including design reviews and commissioning.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Microsoft Project, and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
- Strong project management skills, including developing statements of work and coordinating with multiple stakeholders.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain. at least ONE of the following U.S. Government security clearances: DoD Top Secret level or SCI access with a Single Scope Background (SSBI)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Experience in cleanroom and classified facility design and construction (ICD-705, TEMPEST).
- Knowledge of fire/security alarms, energy management systems, and high-voltage electrical systems.
- Familiarity with Building Automation Systems (BAS), BlueBeam, and reliability engineering.
- Professional Engineer (PE) certification is a plus.
- Active DoD Top Secret, SCI.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
